Some of that cost is the shipping as it's a bit cheaper directly from the store.

Last year I bought 5 Revolver and 5 Early Miss for $120 from the Vancouver Seed store.

This year I bought 5 packs (25 seeds) as shown in my first post, for $150 (tax in), but this is a special price for the 4:20 party....so these folks have a good profit margin in their products
Yeah thats shipped. I think theres good profit in all seed sales. I dont find CKS overpriced and at least it feels like your getting a quality product when you open it. Ive ordered from other places and you almost feel like they just throw in some seeds and call them whatever you ordered. ive paid 70-95 +tax and shipping for 10 pack of regular seeds and then you have to waste time, soil, water, nutes. only to have 4 out of10 girls.

ISK, with your allowed plant total of only 5 it might not be worth it, but you could always
sacrifice one of the seeds and try some feminizing. One run would yield 100's of seeds if
successful. Just some thoughts.

something i have considered but not sure which strain I would like to breed, so maybe this fall as an indoor project

BTW I'm having issues with these seeds, seems to be hit and miss as some do great others don't, so I'm getting a wee bit concerned

I had 6 seeds left over from last year, 2 of each strain (Revolver, EM and DLF), so I gave one of each to my buddy who started his on April 7th and I started mine on the 11th.
His revolver died but the other two are doing excellent.... all 3 of mine sprouted then revolver died and the DLF just stopped growing but the EM is doing well.

So with the newest batch just purchased on April 20th....started the Rev, DLF, Jack H & candy cane....and gave a candy cane to my buddy...both his and mine are not sprouting

My other 3 sprouted perfect, then the revolver just keeled over and died and the shell wouldn't open on the DFL so I had to perform surgery on it this morning, will see soon if if hangs in there or not..... the Jack H is looking yellow but I think will do okay....go figure

at least that makes me feel better, I was starting to doubt myself.

BTW: my buddy just called and said his CC started to sprout, so I guess there's hope still

happy to say the DLF is doing great, after removing the seed shell it has done well, so it's a winner

the Jack H is doing okay but small as heck, but looks much better as it's green now

I'm thinking my problem has been heat, lack of, as it's been rather chilly even on sunny days, so last evening I put a glass bowl over them and they were happy, warm with high RH

The EM new leaves are still looking a bit yellow, but not so bad
P4260015.JPG

major improvement from yesterday
P4260019.JPG

loaded up the room with more lights just for the heat, as it was only getting to 74F, the extra lights should help

I know the tin foil is bush league but it won't be for long

major fuck-up this morning as I tipped over my bucket in the tub, it flip right over and did a nose dive.

the rock wool came right out and was upside down but on an angle so that saved the plant, it was in no worst for wear shape.

anyhow got to peek at the roots, not as many or deep as I would have thought, but I don't think I damaged any (should have taken a pic but I wasn't thinking straight)

Anyhow, lost the soil cap and about 2 inches of perlite, so being in a hurry I just filled up the void with soil...so she has about a 3 inch soil cap now.

the two seedlings are looking decent...not sure what I'm going to use for a pot

still a bit on the yellow side...not sure what's up with that

A few posts up, I was saying the DLF started on April 11th just stop growing, but I did not say it died, and it has resurrected itself to dominate the world

The DFL is in the middle..April 14th
P4140005.JPG

So after about a week of it doing nothing I pulled it out of the rock wool and noticed the roots still looked alive, so I poke a hole in the soil of a house plant and stuck it in.

I thought the thing was dead or soon to die, but just today I see green leaves, rather tiny but it's alive
P4270007.JPG

so I think I'll scoop it out with a spoon and transplant into a solo cup hempy c/w soil core/cap

Is that half price deal only on 4.20?
yes, far as I know...and the price goes down with the more you buy..... one pack of 5 seeds for $40 or 2 packs (10 seeds) for $70 which is advertised but when I bought 5 packs she reduced it to $150 ($30 / pack).

Coming along nicely Isk. All of mine really took off after the 3rd week. and the slow ones arent that far behind the strong ones anymore.
thanks Digger, they seem to be doing okay, but like you say it takes about 3 weeks for they really start growing

I've been putting the gals into a CFL/LED grow room after sunset to extend their hours to 20/4, but last night the EM got burnt by the LED flood light

This happen to me in a previous LED bulb grow but it was minor, this time it damaged two leaves, one got rather injured, the other not as bad

I got rid of that flood light bulb and replaced with a traditional LED bulb

all in all the plant (EM) is looking good
