20 Ton Rosin

it will, but try just pressing individual big buds. or form a handful of small buds into a large bud with your hands....it works
Yeah, loose buds in a bag just isn't cutting it.
Got like 15% from some glue smalls. I know i got allot to learn, but i ain't gonna lie, it was disappointing lol.
I squished a fat nug all by itself, and got almost 25%. Problem is, that will take days and days lol.
Thanks for all your help bro.

Finally got my press delivered and setup that I ordered cyber Monday. Big thanks for everyone whose shared in this thread. Have just done a few squishes to play around so far. Used bubble hash from a bit older batch of trim. Thinned out its nice and golden.. delicious and I'm high as fuck! 7.9g in 4.6 out IMG_3274.JPG

Nice!
I don't know why, but i've got my best yield so far from a batch of old bubble also. Maybe 6 months old? It was glue, but still. I posted about it earlier.
I'm getting right around 50% though from most of the bubble I run. All super bomb diggity flavors, all bubble bag mesh material used.

Really digging these korlor420 silk bags. I run 10 g's of bubble per batch, absolutely zero blow outs. 37 micron.
Their 160 micron for broken up indoor flower, different strains. I've been squishing 10g's also, but with just a very little bit of blow out. No biggie picking out the little bit of blowout.
220F. For both flower and bubble.
We ran a bunch of my buddies outdoor flowers yesterday, same method Different strains. They all were too gooey to collect. I'm thinking turning up the heat?

Nice thread. I ended up going with the 20 ton black widow with low temp 4x7 plates just like Aero's. It's turning into a cool hobby when I got time, and makes good use of the little buds and trim.

At first I was using Raw parchment paper and getting the gooey resin off sucked. Putting it in the freezer helped, but it was still shitty paper. Also, on hard presses over 10 ton, the oil/resin would go right through the raw paper and end up on the plates.

I switched to the 10x10'' pre cut oil slick paper and it was smooth sailing . Big difference in the work load, the resin pulled right off, even the goo, and does not go through the paper anymore.

I pressed some older hash and got about 50+% return through 37 bags but consistency was brittle /shatter. That one I had to pull off paper right away when it is still warm before it dries brittle and flies all over the place.
It definitely takes some getting used to to get a knack for it, very temp dependent ...

I'm gonna try the low temp seamless 220 bags for flower next and see how that goes...

220*/104c is what I do. I lower the press just until I get very light pressure. Let it warm up for 30 seconds , then hammer down for 30 seconds to 50 seconds max.

I fold the last 1/4" of the bag and even out the material in the bag. I got super awesome return when I pressed bubble. 3.7 in, 1.9 return. Next harvest, I'll do a bubble hash extract, let dry, then squish and compare to the dry ice returns.
How do you do the fold in the bag?? My bags don't stay folded. I was thinking maybe stitch it with some thread ??

im still in the experimental phases but seems my fresher product squishes are less stable? more goopy and smeary than a nice pliable/malleable product. ive tried different temps. the dry bubble hash turned out really nice... it all comes off the paper no problem, can cut into strips etc.. suppose ill try out some higher quality parchment paper

That sort of makes sense to me considering more fresh product would have more water/moisture in it. If you press those more fresh products for a longer amount of time do you still get that?

tried pressing the same product at ~180 for ~2+ minutes and still seemed kind of syrupy. going to try some really old and dry product tomorrow @ different temps

Do you guys winterize this stuff after you squish it? Whats the recommended temps for a hand pump one?

I get like 25% return on my LiL Nugsmasher.

Just wondering if you guys clean the rosin (I Know your adding a solvent to a solvent less process) But this stuff leaves my nails and bangers pretty dirty... Should i start using micron bags. If so what size for flowers...

Do you guys pre press your herbs into pucks and then squishy? Sorry i tried going through this thread but lots of information has changed. Thanks guys!

got some 110 bags from shobagz to press some flower.. almost seems like theres some good oil getting left inside the bag tho.. even after a 2-3 presses. not a whole lot but maybe just need to press it a couple more times.. dont wanna leave money on the table. think its probably better off to just press bubble hash rather than flower.

Yeah, packing your bag really well, esp. in the corners, helps reduce that waste. I think that's where pre-pressing might help. These are priced well. https://www.mstract.com/rosin-press-accesories/mstract-pre-press-mold/

I recently started using the stitchless bags by Rosin Evolution and I don't see the same loss. And, if there is rosin left, it can usually be harvested by grabbing the stitchless seam between parchment and snapping the rosin away. I guess dropping your rosin bags in a jar of ethanol or oil will give you another way to harvest the rosin from the bag...along with whatever might be left in the pressed cake.

I got some seamless 3x6'' 220 bags from low temp and I got a chance to press some blueberry x platinum cookie small buds. I stuffed them into the 3x6 bag not pre-pressed... I put 15 grams in and got 2.3 grams back for a 15.3% return from buddetts with 2 presses @ 210f/ 1-2m, 10/15 ton.

rosin4.jpg

the extraction was easy with the new paper. I was able to dab off 2.3 grams in a few minutes using a pic then an oil slick pad...

rosin2.jpg

All in all I like these 3x6'' 220 bags for small buds.

got some nice clean caramel ...

Best yield I've gotten so far off nugs was off a strain my buddy @BuzzD2Kill kicked down. A skywalker og X wifi cross. 20++
MOST strains I've been squishing are around 18ish(from smalls mind you) Pisses me off when you see heads online getting close to 25% though. :-( Can't wait until i try out some of my wifi crop coming up. It's gotta be great.
I squish 10 g's of broken up flower at a time in my 2x4.5" korlor silk bags. Hardly get a blow out. 15% minimum off most of the bomb flavors we grow here in cali;-) 50% from bubble, all bags used.

220F, 1 min.

30 sec to heat things up at 1 ton. 15 sec at 5 ton. 15 more at 10ton. 15 more at 15, the rest is pushing it to 20 ton. My shit is killer. Been getting mad props from my friends who dab everyday.
I collect it with a piece of paper wrapped around my finger. Way easier than scraping with a tool imo.
My lab assistant snapped one of the bolts just assembling the widow for me. Definitely upgrade.
wow. That's crazy bro! I've squished easily over a 1/2 pound of rosin at least now on my press and no problems. Still gonna upgrade though i guess.
