Ok, so im gonna do a journal for this, only because it sounds like fun, and everyone thats ever started this with the exception of a couple people, have done it from start to finish, and have proof of acheiving success. So im gonna do it, and document the progress for anyone that wants to give it a shot, and get like a quarter oz (probably less lol) from a grow. If this works, this would also be an awesome idea for anyone who has little to no space to grow in, and just wants to see if they can grow a pot plant or 2. Also, this would enable people who DO have experience, but who are recently restricted on space to an extreme degree, to be able to do like a 100 plant sog grow with super minimal space, and very little resources used. But most importantly, the reason im doin this is
-Because i like to have fun, and this sounds like it would be fun as shit to do. ending up with one danky lookin nugget at the end of this experiment would just flat out be awesome in my book.
Specs:
-2x 20 oz clear paint mixing cups
-1 red diesel feminized seed
-1 g13 labs power skunk seed
-FF ocean forest
-Dolemite lime
-either FF nutrients or GH FLORA series nutes, grow, micro, bloom...
-CFLs to start with, then move on to 600w HPS to finish up, OR i might just do the entire thing in CFLs.
-a prayer.
Im gonna germ the seeds, and then a day after they sprout, im gonna count off 2 weeks veg time, or until the plant reaches its 4th node, whicever comes first is when im gonna begin flowering.
I will also be checking the rootball once a week to see if its getting rootbound too too bad. If so, ill be pruning the ends of the roots lightly to keep binding to a minimum. I DO however want the plant to get rootbound slightly, as this will be a bansai plant, and thats how they work, lol.
I started germ about a half hour ago, and ill be prepping the soil tomorrow, just mixing up a gallon of soil, and doing 3 tbsp of Dolemite lime into the soil. Ill then distribute the soil into the cups, and water them, to condition the soil and get it ready for the grow. Hopefully both seeds will germ by tomorrow night, and ill be off n running. Ill have them both under their own 150w equivalent Sunlight (orange ish) CFL bulb, but in the grow cab there is a total of 7 CFLs both Daylight(blue) and Sunlight (orange ish) spectrums. I also have a 4ft plant n aquarium light hanging from the ceiling, as well as one more 45w CFL in the light fixture in the ceiling, to help get rid of any shadows in the room should there be any.
If anybody has any other ideas on how i can improve on this and make it work, please let me know. Like i said before, ive seen a shitload of people start this type of grow for fun, along with the shotglass grow, and have seen only 2 or 3 people with results to take pics of n show off. I would very much like to have people either give their input on the grow n help it along with me, OR even better, start their own grows in either Solo beer cups, or 20 oz paint mixing cups, to see if they can do it too, or even better than what im doin. I dont give a fuck if people come up with a 20 oz hydroponic system, lol - as long as theyre doin it thats awesome in my book.
