Saw these looking for reservoir coolers under "Aquarium" marketplaces.

Or this one:

My application is to apply this to one 5 Gallon DWC bucket. Tired of changing out freeze packs twice a day.

Price point is tempting compared to all the others.(quite expensive as everyone knows)
Thanks to anyone who cares.

For 5 gallons, well more like 3 I guess, that's a great idea. But you need to know it's not like a normal chiller. These thermoelectric type, use a PELTIER to cool. Not refrigerant, compression, and evaporation like car ac. I would honestly reccomend just buying an ecoplus 1/10hp from ebay/amazon. They have come down CONSIDERABLY in price over the last 2-3 months and are a great investment. You'll want it to be bigger If you ever decide to do anything over 10 gallons.
You can also get these you've mentioned here on eBay and Amazon. You don't need to use aliexpress.

agreed with airwalker.

buy a wort chiller (stainless steel) from a home brewing supply store. or 2 or 3 if you want to run more than one bucket.

Nah. No warts. And metal and salt nutes is a bad combo. Buy this. Just bite the bullet and do it.

This was $349 a month or two ago.
these:http://www.brewinternational.com/25-stainless-steel-immersion-coil/?gclid=CNGyt56Azs4CFQYvaQodTv8K8Q

put one in each bucket and run in series from the chiller. run a stand alone res with plain water to chill the buckets. no nutes at all in the wort chiller. been there done that and it works perfectely

Rofl auto correct. My bad. And it's not the nutes being pushed through the wort, it's the wort being in contact with metal PERIOD. It'd be better to push em through it somehow rather than having metal sitting stagnant in your nutrent water. No bueno.
i had a stand alone res of plain water with a small water pump. pump thru chiller out to wort chillers and back to res.
at least the stainless would be better than copper. titanium wort chiller would be the best but expensive.

i just liked it so i could run multi buckets with one chiller.

So buy a water chiller! They're $250!!20160811_154611.jpg 20160811_154537.jpg

i think you missed my point. a wort chiller is not a chiller: it's a passive heat exchanger. check the link i posted. i have a "real" chiler too: 1/10 HP the combination of the chiller and multi wort chillers allows you to run multi buckets

i'm doing hempy buckets drain to waste now. change my res every 10 days. no more pHing and being chained to the buckets. just got back from 10 days away without an issue. couldn't do that with dwc/rdwc.

I could leave my setup for 2 weeks without a hitch.

Btw, that eco plus I posted on amazon is still $350-400 EVERYWHERE else. I'd seriously take advantage of that price.
Here's the link:

Told you to take advantage of this guys. Price is already back up to $320. Don't come crying to me if you didn't snag it when it was $247 a few DAYS ago. I tries to emphasize how good of a deal I was seeing...so, ya&... I told ya so....

Well, I'd like to thank all that participated in this thread. Especially 'Airwalker16' whose sales pitch pushed me into dropping the coin for the 1/10 HP EcoPlus. I got mine for $270, so the price was already creeping.

Thanks again all.
