Hello all, today marks week 7 of flowering. 2 days ago I chopped off a very small bud off a lower branch of Mary (the topped plant). The wet weight was 1.5 grams. I then quick dried it for a few hours in an envelope on top of the lights in the box. I over dried it and then weight went down do .37. The bud felt too dry so I put an orange peel in a jar with the bud for about an hour to get some moisture back and the wight went up to .44 and the bud felt about right. As far as smell goes, it was not very good but I'm pretty sure that's because I had the brilliant idea of drying it with a lighter and I burned a bit off the bud for a second . And after I used the orange to add moisture it had a nice smell of orange to it, but it still didn't smell like weed.



As for Mary and Jane, they are still doing alright. Leaves are still dying but they should still give me a pretty nice harvest. I have started watering with only water in preparation for flowering. I think Mary could be harvested a few days sooner than Jane could but since I am going to be using my grow box for drying them, I'll have to wait. My plan is on Friday or Saturday night to let them go for 48 hour darkness to increase trich production so I will be harvesting either Sunday or Monday! Here's a few pics of Mary's top colas.

Nice i just saw this Journal and it seems like you had a great first go! I am looking into buying or making a stealthy grow box or cabinet, for a second grow would you redo NL or are you moving onto another strain?

Thanks for your interest. Next grow will be Northern Lights again. Its a really nice strain for stealth growing because its almost ready to harvest and the smell is still very minimal. I would highly recommend it.

Good afternoon everyone. Last night I went ahead and harvested Mary, the plant that was topped. She was a few days away from 8 weeks flowering. Everything went pretty well. Since I thought Jane could use a few more days flowering, I made a make-shift drying box out of a cardboard box with a PC fan at the bottom for air circulation. The temperature of where the box is is around 70 degrees but I unfortunately do not know what the humidity is. Hopefully everything works out. I harvested without doing a 24 hour dark period before harvest so I will do that for Jane and see if I can tell a difference. Here are some pictures right before I harvested Mary.



The wet weight was 41 GRAMS!!! Which should leave me with about a half ounce once dry. And this is only from 1 plant. My goal for a quarter ounce total has already been doubled and I still have 1 plant left to harvest. Since I wasn't really planning on harvesting last night, the pots were still a bit wet so I think it'll take about 4 days to dry but I am going to decide when they're ready based on weight and when the stems break and not bend. The 2 colas alone gave me half of the total weight. I don't think that Jane will give me as bountiful of a harvest but anything more than what I have is just icing on the cake. The next update will be the harvesting of Jane, enjoy everyone!
