1st Time DWC Grow - Amnesia Lemon, La Musa & Madness

Madness looks really healthy. I am pretty happy with her. The Amnesia Lemons (one of them) got so tall it went beyond my light and while I sat around with my thumb up my ass thinking about how to solve the issue, it got some heat stress (due to being so close to the light) around the top cola. I have since add some snap reflectors and 2700k CFLs to assist, but they don't appear as healthy as the Madness plant.

My next run at AL I will flip the lights sooner than I did here to control the size a bit better. I will also try to supercrop to see how that works out.

The one thing I didn't realize until very late in the game is that when calculating the PPM of your feedings, you need to factor in the PPM of the water you are using. My tap water is around 300 PPM. So this whole time thinking that my plants were thriving with 1200 PPM was not correct. They were really at 900 PPM or thereabouts. It makes complete sense to me now why people use RO water instead of tap.

My next grow is going to go a lot better than this one just based off of the stuff I have learned by doing it and of course by paying attention to what some of the more experienced growers around here do.

BLJ When did you find this out?Might be a blessing.....There is alot of micros in tap tht are good for your Plant.RO water IMO is a little overrated as it has no micros tht you will need.

About 2 weeks ago. I think you may be right about some things in the tap water, but I think it's also a reason for salt build-up in the bucket. I don't plan to switch to RO, as my wife would kill me for going out and buying water on top of everything else, but it certainly helped me make sense of why my PPM numbers seem to be way higher than the numbers I see posted around here. In truth, they aren't.

Sorry I've been away for so long. So I have harvested this entire grow. Madness was by far the best tasting and best bag appeal strain on this grow. My scale was out of commission when I harvested/dried/cured (and I was smoking it while it was curing) but I would estimate that I got about an Ounce and a quarter off of her. My two Amnesia Lemon strains were very interesting, and very different from each other. One had an earthy/spicy taste and smell, with a subtle lemon flavor. I had some issues with this plant because it outgrew my space, but once I made adjustments and added some snap-reflectors with CFLs, she got back on track. I got about an Ounce and half off of that one. As far as effect, this one, IMO has the strongest The other Amnesia Lemon had a very lemony smell. It would fluctuate between Lemonheads (the candy) and Countrytime Lemonade (the powder). This one didn't grow as tall as her sister, but she produced about the same yield. When I harvested her, I had my scale back in commission and my estimates were about right, factoring in that I was pinching while it cured. Very successful grow, especially for my first time. I have some harvest pics, but not a lot, so I will post a few.

Here are some photos I took at Harvest. It's not a lot. I got real lazy when it came to the camera at the end. Also I was frustrated because I couldn't get very many good shots. I guess the time of the day made the lighting in the room kind of funky. Here are Madness and Amnesia Lemon along with a picture of a nug of Madness dried and cured:

The odor wasn't too heavy for Madness, but it definitely had an odor. I wouldn't grow it without a Carbon filter or some other type of odor reducer if you are worried about the smell. Madness had a very fruity smell and taste. Almost like over-ripe cherries is how I would describe it.
