1st Grow...big or go home

today no real changes happened. i have noticed that the project girls that started off slow and dainty are now growing to be the strongest. the nutes have definitely proven their worth and there is a large difference between nutes and non-nutes.

the ASD 2 is still not wanting to recover fully. initially i thought i was stressed from the transplant, but all the other girls have not only bounced back but they continue to grow. the ASD 2 refuses to either come out of shock and or recover from the transplant. today i sprayed it with the water/tea folair spray that ive been spraying on the project girls. the girls are on a every other day type feeding schedule. their watering schedule has increased, so if there is no noticeable change by tomorrow with ASD 2 then i will introduce nutes to her...see if that will help.

this truly sux dic because group 2 (ASD/Bubblegum) were my golden girls. they were the strongest and tallest and smelled the best, now the ASD 2 is hurting. i was going to use them to clone and play with but i might end up using the project girls. i mean there is still hope for her, her leaves arent turning colors and they still have a deep dark green to them, there are also no other signs of stress or issues that are showing. so hopefully this isnt permanent damage.

So you transplanted on Sunday from what I read correct? If so I'd just be a little more patient all plants respond differently to transplants some being more shocked than others. It hasn't been long and as long as the foliage is looking fine id just give it a few more days

@Fishy Buds you were right...she started to perk back up today. its different though, i'm used to within a day seeing them perk up or not. that transplant took alot out of them...or at least that one girl. but shes fine now.

as for the other girls they're doing good and have shown a lot growth and strength...they're a dark green and are feeding once every other day. they seem to be responding well to the LED. i've introduced nutes to the project plants and they are loving it, i'll cycle them on and off the nutes. i've also introduced nutes to the ASD 2 to see if that helps a little more with trans shock.

i am always open to suggestions and new methods. hope you are enjoying the journal. tomorrow is photo day

alright so a day late and a dollar short...but heres my girls and the progress.

first lets address the issues. 1) my humidity is hitting 71%, which is unusual because in the smaller compartments it would stay around 50-55% but in the larger compartment its holding at 70% +...i used to spray all the plants but now i only spray 2 plants instead of them all but its still high.

i guess thats the only real issue. but i am getting ready to start cloning and really excited about that. also getting ready to start lollipopping, again super excited. my biggest question is when do i flip to flower?

heres the girls

When to flower is basically a personal choice based on several factors such as how big you want to veg them (a factor also based on the size of your grow space), how much you want to top or train them, etc. if from seed they need to be mature before they will flower which is generally a month old so looks like you are about there with that factor.

With taking clones and such were you going to want to make mother plants out of any of them? If so might want to wait till you have clones rooted for each of them before starting flower. This is due to the fact that first you want your plants to recover from the cloning process, and second you want to have copies surviving for each plant so once you flower if you find the plant that has the desired genetics you guaranteed have copies (for a mother plant or another run)

@Fishy Buds , yeah i was lookng at them today and i will start cloning them tomorrow. i'm really really excited and crazy pumped about this stage. in fact i'm actually probably more excited about the cloning and scrogging then i am about the flower...dont get me wrong pumped about the flower but the cloning is getting technical and my goal is to learn and gain as much knowledge and experience as possible. so i'll be updating more and more.

thanks for all your help guys. @Fishy Buds @astronautrob you guys really helped me out no matter how redundant or repetitive the questions were.

i'm always open to suggestions and advice.

No problem glad to help. Definitely wish I had gone on the forums when I started growing would have probably saved me a lot of time learning certain things the hard way!

So what are you gonna use for cloning?

well i know today isn't fri but today has been eventful, so i have some pics to share with everyone. so heres a run through of everything that happened today.

1) i cut clones off all the girls. 2 clones came from each girl. that way if anything happens i'll have more to work with.

2) all girls were lollipopped and trimmed down.

3) all girls were taped down to channel the auxins. i want to get the most growth out of the best parts so after reading up on auxins and trying to learn as much as possible.

as of right now i still have some more topping to do before i flip to flower. for now i'll put all the girls on nutes for the next few feedings and then i'll start flushing right before the flip.

So what are you gonna use for cloning?
when i took the clones i dipped the cuttings in clonex first, then put them in a micro-infused plugs. i watered them with clone max...its ratio is 2 tsp to 1 gal of water. i soaked the plugs in the clone max mixture before sticking the cuttings in the plugs. i stuck them in a greenhouse tray and sprayed the lid with water/tea mixture. stuck them under a single bulb T5 for the time being right now.

pic 1- the clones and their new home
pic 2 & 3- all the girls after the lollipopping and taping down.

although the clones are not the focal point of this journal, but they are a piece. so other then this i will not be discussing the clones throughout the journal.

like always i am open to suggestions or advice

i want to stray away from posting every single day, but given the fact that i just popped them and cloned them yesterday there is some stuff i want to discuss. yesterday while trimming and cloning the kush, i tried to supercrop her. in return i got 2 broken branches, i taped them up and this morning they were dead. they were fan branches, so they were not the shoots which is good. but this brought another question...that is, how much is the girl going to be hurt if it loses the fan branches? cause i did trim some of them off the other day and left the shoots. did i hurt the growth of the plant.

on a couple of girls i cut the branches off and on a couple i taped the branches down. i never cut off the top branches mainly because i figure that the top fans are best used to absorb light. but would cutting lower fan branchs hurt the plant much. right now i'm waiting on the plants to recover before i flip them.

always open to suggestions and/or advice

so the girls are coming along. nothing has really changed. i might have topped a few more times and trimmed but nothing has really changed. they are just settling in and getting ready for the flip.

something i have been paying attention to is the trimming. earlier i asked about trimming the fans back. i know i could've saved time and effort if i just researched it, but sometimes its good to see the effects of something yourself. so my conclusion of trimming the fans back or even cutting them off is this; the fans help the development of the shoots and the stock, although the shoots do not need the fans to grow their growth and strength will be dramatically affected.

in short i need to step up my topping game. i feel that if i topped properly then i wouldn't have been so eager to trim the fans back so much. i haven't killed any yet but there are a few girls that are under developed and might have trouble holding the colas up when its time to flip. i have some methods on LST but everything will be trial and error. tomorrow will be the end of the nute feeding. i'll let them breath over the weekend and flush after that. then on to flip. also photoshoot tomorrow yay :clap::hump:

any advice and/or suggestions are always welcome.

so ends week 5...most of this week has been contributed to trimming/topping/fim'ing. the girls themselves have not really made dramatic changes and spent most of their time in recovery from trimming. week 6 is going to be transplant, flushing, and getting ready for the flip. there is no date on the flip, right now i'm taking advice and letting the plants tell me when they are ready.

hope you enjoy it. i'm always open for suggestions and advice

alright so today i ended week 6 and set everything to flip. so from here on out i'm in bloom. i set up a scrog net and will continue to LST throughout the bloom cycle.

so heres the pics of the setup after i finished setting up everything. from here on out i will only be using rock resignator and tiger bloom, also a organic tea as nutes from here on out.

if you have any questions/comments/suggestions/or advice feel free to join in. hope you enjoy.

well i flipped them and so far, so good. ran into a problem with the babies but i think its fixed. right now i'm focusing on LST'ing all the girls. humidity is becoming a little bit of a issue...i'm holding right about 80-85% and i'm assuming that could cause a mold problem. am i wrong?

any suggestion/advice is always welcome.

I got mold when it hit 80% , doesn't feel good for you nor the plants it inhibits respiration and the drier 30-50% is better for flower it'll increase thc resin to protect the bud.
Dehumidifier would be great but I don't feel like investing 200 for one right now, try putting a dry towel in there somewhere to absorb moisture, and oscillating fan would help a lot too

hey guys,
so it has been awhile hasn't it. i haven't forgot about you lol i've just been busy. okay enough about me....the girls is what everyone is curious about im sure.
welp, monday is day 21 of flower and they look good. i know, i know, picture thats what everyone wants. well i'll take pictures as soon as i find an opportunity. they've all budded and the smell is citrus and kind of a coffee smell...its not bad. the humidity is hitting 95% sometimes...really that is the only issue i am having. sooooooooooooooooooooooo i went and got some disposable dehumidifiers that hang up and installed 1 in there, i also have 2 oscillating fans but they didn't do much. i'm going to see if these throw away dehumidifiers work and lower the humidity at all. i have no trouble with gnats or flies, no mites, no spiders even (and i wouldnt be to opposed to spiders). its getting crowded and i'm seeing issues that definitely need to be addressed by the next grow. i have failed on LST'ing and the girls are smothering each other, although it is expected i think it is doing more damage then expected. i will be posting pictures soon i promise.

any suggestions or advice is always welcome.

One of mine had a coffee smell yumm
Let me know how those "disposable dehumidifiers" work how expensive were they? I didn't feel like investing 200 for a good one as humidity stays under 65% with ac on, but 95? Jesus Christ that'll be fucking them over unless they're clones, do they look okay? Even if they live through it they won't yield as many terpenoids nor thc. And I learned overcrowding the hard way. I started with over 50 red solos with 10 being blue dream and 40 bag seeds that smelled like a mix of piss garbage and cadavers. Bag seeds are only good for spam gorilla growing around walmart parking lot otherwise what a learning experience, was great training practice. Even 20 vegging in a 4x2 now is too much. I'm flowering my overgrown 8 month veged moms now with clones in various stages. First mom got 2 oz of moldy mids whereas I got a clone veg for a month yield an oz of high quality that took a 6th of canopy space. Not sure if I'll rotate clones of clones next op or aggressively trim down a mother, but definitely not letting them make 100x more shoots than I needed, I need less clones that are big and healthier. Also I need to focus on how each plant maximizes canopy space rather than maximizing root/floor coverage. The 20 I got in there now would be doing better now if I had only 10 in there and focused 2ce as much training each one. I used to fantasize that SOGs were adding up #s if you had a lot but what I found was shit focus adds up to shit quality. Half as many could be 4x as much and 2ce the quality. Biggest advice I could give on overcrowding/training is to learn that focus on channeling energy on what matters, such as peeling off all the little shoots that are stretchy and shaded thatll cost a gram of effort to make a 1/10 gram of shit whereas that energy could yield more focusing on the tops, it's emotionally hard for some but in the end we realize the sacrifice is worth dense nugs in the end
Edit: I forgot to tell you that your tattood female leg looks like a dick selfie

@bro54209 hey i am sitting at 35 days of flower and no mold yet, it smells like super citrusy and like strong coffee. the disposable dehumidifiers work just not well enough. i have paid attention to the girls and LST'ing needs to be improved. i think i have a way of doing it. and next go around i'll do that. to keep crowding down or to a minimum. all the clones are lollipopped and i'm done with bottom branches never again. i feel like i'm going to have to cough up the cash for a 200 dehumidifier though, for me there is no way to avoid it. lol i did not notice my dick selfie i'll have to change that

pics soon i promise

hey everyone i've been mia for a while. mostly because of school and shit. so you can say ive failed at staying up to date with the journal. like always i promised pics and like always i'm late. but better late then never. so here are the pics.

note they are day 47 flower. hope you enjoy. and feel free to ask me anything.

hey everyone
so today hit day 61 of flower. humidity has gotten out of control. the humidity hits +90% and necrosis has set in and soil remains wet. the tric's are not finishing off and the mothers are not starving. i believe that they will survive until harvest. but the problem (humidity) needs to be fixed before the clones go into flower.
The clones are getting root bound. aphids are getting harder and harder to deal with. i'm fighting alot of problems and they only seem to build up. i bought a dehumidifier but the piece of shit runs for 5 mins then stops.

i am really willing to hear any advice that anyone has
