whats up riu! This is James Danko (not my actual name) with my first ever indoor closet grow! Seeds were courtesy of Herbies! Current set up I have 3 seedlings Holy Grail Kush, Strawberry Blue, and Critical Sensi Star, the SB and CSS were freebies. I germinated in a cup of distilled water then put em through the wet paper towel method and from there some jiffy cups and HGK and SB have recently been transferred to some 5 gallon buckets, CSS will be transferred tomorrow! Soil I'm running is Fox farm ocean forest and I mixed it with perlite and vermiculite. No nutes as I've read ffoc soil has plenty of nutes for the first month, but when the time comes I'lll be getting that fox farm trio that includes big bloom and tiger bloom. For watering I'm using straight distilled water and nothing else. Lighting for now I have 13 CFL's that put out 860 lumens each, I believe the "true wattage" is 13 or maybe 60 but im including a picture of the box. Temp is between 75-81F with lights on, 70-72 off and I have the lights on a 18/6 schedule. Any input or tip is welcome, we all were noobs once and I'm open to hear from everybody!!

Yo dude I have the same sensi star and strawberry blue. My SB had a rough start (my first grow ) but doing well, sensi stars are about the same. My best ones are my afghani kush, have three of them.

Your right on no nutes, I used some root excelurator and somehow my ppm got high and messed things up, fyi. Ive just been watering still on day 28, youll transplant into fresh soil, thus fresh supply of nutes. Not sure how long, but ya dude I have a journal as well.

Good luck

Starting another grow with some coop from a friend 4 seeds total, 2 Jack Herer and 2 Afghani I'll create another grow journal for that later on. Also have started LST'ing, will take better pics of them tomorrow all tied down with strings....enjoy and please comment

updated LST pics, they're def a lot bigger here. CSS is the smallest, dont know if thats because of genetics or something else but I def want to keep vegging another week or 2 and then start flowering. Question is if its a good idea to flower them all at once or just SB and HGK and keep vegging CSS??? Inputs welcome pleaseeeeIMG_2138.JPGIMG_2139.JPG IMG_2140.JPG IMG_2141.JPG IMG_2142.JPG

Yeah Herbies seeds have a good germination rate I'm def ordering again. And I'm using FFOF and still can't decide whether I wanna use FF trio pack which includes big bloom, grow big and tiger bloom or possibly go organic. Also I was told if undecided I could just throw em in another bucket full of fresh FFOF soil but that would require transplanting the whole plant and roots which are gonna be big and I'm kind of iffy about that man to be honest......what you guys think/suggest?

Well, if its your first grow (like myself) id just use fox farm trio bro. Mix some dolomite lime in your soil as well it helps stablize the ph bro. They have a good organics threzd here though, I was looking at organics. Just find a trusted supersoil and use teas.

Upload a picture man

Yes I had a problem with Herbies all's t was an immature Afghan they threw in as part as the free seeds. So I emailed hem and said what's the point of giving free seeds if they aren't worth a damn, mind you I'm bitching about a free seed but this was my first time using them and it was a not so great experience. No questions asked except for a picture and they refunded my whole order!
For those of you who remember this thang I brought in for a friend to try to revive it as a sapling. Well guys CFL, perfect hum, temp, and breeze, 18/6. Yesterday I tooke it back was showing signs of a female but realized that this was a Sativa....the person wh germinated said it was from an old strain f Northern. So she's off to go outside night and a couple more weeks as the root ball gets bigger in the 3 gal pot and transitions to the outside she will go in the ground. The old man was very happy as he has land to do so and says that this strain will get 7 feet tall and to expect a nice gesture of playing caretaker this late fall. Being im a newbie I was happy to here the old man said I did great with her and whatever im studying to keeps at it.....I got tons of qualiy seeds to mess with and found that germination straight from soil is the best especially if you have a heat mat and keep it a 80 degrees.

So I got an Afghan (free seed) and a GS cookie up and going the onto the cash crop and Strawberry Blue. Good genetics and environment makes ll the difference. Hell I don't remember why I started this just to give you an update.

Update: plants are coming along fine, CSS got a little too close to the light a burnt some leaf tips, all better now. Leaning towards flowering them but unsure. As I've noted before they are being LST'ed, and Im following a guideline as to induce flowering once they're 12 inches of growth BUT since they're bent over and tied down from different angles, exactly what is 12 inches referring to? 12 inches NATURAL height from stem to tip without modifications ex: LST, topping etc. or 12 inches from stem to current highest tip including LST? They definitley are over 12 inches if I hadn't LST'd. Noob question but just wanna be on the safe side.....

Hey bro what kind of set up are you working with and . At what age did you start tying them and training them, or could you point me in the right direction. I want to keep my plants short and compact b/c of space etc., small set up.

Hey bro, I am by no means an expert, and in fact just started messing with LST, but this is the article that inspired me and am rolling with it now on my new plant.

http://www.420magazine.com/forums/frequently-asked-questions/170881-low-stress-training-questions.html

I waited until about the fourth or so set of leaves to develop and then I bent her over down on her side towards the end of the pot. Just start to mess with it. I will say the little bit I have done so far the plants really respond fast to it and it is really cool to see.
