19w cfl

Is 5 19w CFL lights sufficient for a 8 plant closet grow

it says that its equal to a regular 75W bulb buh im jw if this is efficient enough

no, probably not, unless you do SOG. but i still doubt it. i would go with the 23 or 42w cfl's. wanna shoot for 5000 lumens per sq foot. not to mention INTENSITY(the thing that'll get your buds nice and fat ;]

get some more lights, or stronger ones i would recommend.

no no no, its cool man. SOG, its a type of growing where you have little to no veg time. usually i see people do it from seed to prevent side branching. say you have a 3x3 space. thats 9 sq ft. 1 plant per sq foot is a good rule of thumb to follow for growing with veg time. but in an SOG, i've heard of people doing 4 plants per sq foot from seed on a 12/12 light cycle. thats basically what it is in a nutshell, cutting out veg and just flowering from seed, More small plants in the same amount of space if done effectivly one can yield up to 1/2 oz with perfect conditions. i've heard of people getting more, and less than that in SOG but it all depends on the strain and growing conditions. if ya need any more info man google it theres tons of articles. well i was planing on having a 24Hr light for about 1-2 weeks and go straight to flower

well i mean after they get to at least the one foot mark

Hey there Pumert and welcome to RIU! You are gonna need some 6500k daylight cfl's for the veg and some 2700k for the flowering. As LogHead said, SOG is an efficiant growing technic but.. (and please let me know if im wrong) seems like you are new to this huh. so i wouldnt go sog just yet. how about you give us your list of what you have already.

ya i just wanted to get some decent crop growing yanoe get my feet wet so to speak. i got 8 master kush sprouts from DR.chron each in a five quart pot because i planned to top them off at about 2 feet. I got 5 19w CFL bulbs about 1foot above the plants and i linned the walls with foil. Is this decent or did i totally fuk up?

uhm, well your gunna need a bigger space for one. remember if you plan on vegging then flowering, your gunna wanna give those ladies at lease 1 plant psf. so if 50% of your plants are female then you should have enough space, little tight but, enough. whats the kelvin spectrum on those cfls?

I would go bigger but thats what i have to work with for the time being and its 2700K

You well want to get some 6500k . I did my first cfl grow with 6 42w 2700k for vegging .It worked but took alittle longer to get to the size I want for flowering . Now I'm using 12 23w 6500k for vegging and results are alot different . Plants have been vegging for 2 weeks and will be going into flowering in 2 weeks.
For flowering I use 12 42w 2700k and it seems to be doing a great job .
