Hello RIU peeps. I have decided to attempt an indoor grow using cfls all the way. I recently caught the grow bug after popping some seeds in Aug. of last year and getting good returns for a total noob ( starting too late :wall:and not having a clue of what I was doing) CYMERA_20131112_131631.jpgCYMERA_20131203_084537.jpgCYMERA_20131210_161454.jpg I got 4 jars worth from those 2 plants:leaf::leaf::lol:.

Now I have an old dresser thats 2'6"x1.6"x3'6" and I've popped several seeds from unknown bagseed. I've got 5 23watt 6500k and 2 42 watt 2700k bulbs. Here are some picsIMG_20140106_125224.jpgIMG_20140106_125240.jpgIMG_20140106_125228.jpg

I could not finish my original post so here it goes. My plans are to seperate the top and bottom making 2 compartments with the bottom being the flowering compartment. I'm looking for suggestions from anyone that can help. Ventilation is my first issue because of the top/veg compartment being about 1' 6". With the current light setup heat is an issue I do plan to mount another power strip to spread the bulbs out to help with heat. I was thinking of using 120 mm pc fans for exhaust with passive intakes opposite of the fans. Thanks in advance for anyone who stops thru to help out.

I am amazed at how much growth has transpired!! 5 blade leaves already and side branching developing wow. Outdoors last year I think that took about 2-3 weeks with atleast 6 hrs of direct sunlight everday except for bad weather. I've given it 1/4 strenght FF BigBloom. I'm gonna wait before I start the FF Big Grow atleast 2 more weeks unless I see a nute def. So far I am loving CFL'S they do promote good growth. I also noticed that my plants react better to 6500k than 5000k. Her she goes

I just checked the other 1gallon pot going and saw that it went from 3 blade leaves to 7 blade leaves. I am a noob and was just wondering is that something common with indoor grows. I only started growing last year and it was 2 plants outdoors and neither did this. Here are some picsCYMERA_20140114_140951.jpgCYMERA_20140114_141155.jpgHPIM0007.jpg

Today all are going to 12/12. Yesterday I fed all of them fox farm big bloom full strength and big grow at 1/4 strength. I noticed a definite response from the solo cup girls this morning.

Iam gonna hav fun with this. The solo cup girls are an experiment to see if I can run a plant all the way in one. I 've seen done on here so I thought I would try.

I'm up to 304 watts in the cab. 9 @23watts( 3@5000k 5@2700k 1@65000k) 2@ 42watts 2700k and a 13watt 5000k I bought by accident smoked before I went to Lowes. I gave my best solo cup plant to a friend that wanted to start growing. So now I'm down to 5 plants 3solo cups and 2(1gallon) pots.

My question to anyone that can help is I just switched to 12/12 and I know more bulbs are needed just not sure of whether to go with 2700k or 6500k. I've read 3:1( 2700k:5000k or 6500k) for flowering and as of the moment I'm closer to 2:1 ratio. Should I increase the number of 2700k bulbs or keep my current ratio and get some of both?

that plant in first 2 pics looks overfed man... I too use Fox Farms trio and it goes : Grow Big - veg state Big Bloom - 1st signs of flowering Tiger Bloom - mid late flowering

After reading the bottle I see how confusion can occur. Instructions on bottle label say to start use at first signs of flowering. Soil feeding charts starts use with seedlings/cuttings.:?:

I follow this feeding schedule with less strength than whats on the chart. The chart specifies to start with big bloom which is similiar to compost teas. the burns on the leaves come from splashing water/nute solution while feeding. For some reason everyone thinks cause it is labeled big bloom that it is a bloom nute. Tiger bloom is the bloom fert of the trio which is my understanding and big grow is the veg fert. Big bloom if u look at the chart can be fed to seedlings. View attachment 2963115and here is whats in big bloom... bloom fert.... I dnt think sofe105infopic2.jpg

hey skinny, here is the fox farm schedule that worked best for me. adding the cha-ching at the end really helps to plump up the buds.

I will definitely try that actually from now on looks like a better schedule and I will check my spot for the Cha ching. Thanks Concord.

And thanks for the great feeding schedule. ill use 1/4 the amount since i use air injected soil but now i have a guideline to follow. Funny thing is i was already adding bloom just allot less now i know i can add more and be good. my babies will thank you.

any updates on the plants?
I will upload some pics Wed. Shitty internet right now.
As far as grow switched to 12/12 last monday. I have seen some stretch with 1 of my gallon pots. My other gallon pot is still short with tighter nodes and getting very bushy. Neither have showed sign of sex.

I have 2 in solo cups that are decent. Being a newb I didn't take into account how fast they would dry out. I'm just running those to see if I can finish them in the cups. There was 3 but I had to tranplant it to a tupperware container..lol. I duct taped the sides to block lightand drilled holes for drainage.
Other than solo cups gallon pots are great pics comming soon.

Also fed all once, but had to water smaller ones 1x than the bigs.
