150w cab heat problems.

Hey all, i finally got my 4" vortex hooked up but it doesnt seem to be helping. I have it so its exhausting all the air out into my closet. I cut a passive intake very close to the ground on the front door. Its 8" long by 3" tall. The temps stay at around 88 degrees. Do i need to make the intake hole a little bigger? It seems weird to me that a 150w is so hard to cool...My ideal temp would be 78-80.

Any advice is appreciated! +REP for whatever works best!

You can't keep it cool if you are just recirculating hot air into a closet. Exhaust somewhere else. Up into the attic?
Or move the grow...
Or add an exhaust fan in the closet.

Hey Vapor
Might need a bit more info mate.
What size is your grow area?
What position in the cab is your Vortex exhausting from?
When you say your exhausting into a closet what does that mean? Where is the hot air going? You will restrict the exhaust flow if it's going into an enclosed area.
You really need to get that hot air out of your grow area and out of the room your grow area is in, without any restrictions. You also want to pull as much air off your light as possible.
Your intake is a good size, don't think you need to change it. You could try passively ducting your air in from a cooler place?
I struggle a lot with heat at the moment in my cabs but it's summer here and I cant do much about it. I draw fresh air in from outside via a 6" passive duct and have a 6" inline fan attached to a cool tube exhausting heat from the cab and off the bulb to the outside. I run a 400w HPS. Temps are usually perfect except when it's 100F+ outside.
Would like to see some pics of your set up if possible. Might help solve your probs.
Here some pics of my set up.
1st is View of entire cab.
2nd is Intake Duct drawing fresh air from outside.
3rd is Intake Duct situated behind circulating fan.
4th is Exhaust Duct which travels out of cab, out of room, to the outside via a wall vent.
