125w cfl and clones

I'm new to cfls, but due to space and power I have to go with a 125w cfl over my cloner.

My question is how many clones can I put under that light with good results?

Cloner has 12 sites which I would like to have all filled, just not confident the 1 cfl 125w will be enough. It is supposed to be 400w equivalent.

Thanks guys for input.

Believe it or not, that is overkill for a cloner. That's good enough to veg a 4'x4' area, with a good reflector...
I use a 55 watt cfl for a 21 site cloner.

I thought it was, but I got a steal on the reflector veg bulb and flower bulb for $25 and couldn't pass it up, Ty for the reply. I just started playing around with cfls so much to learn.

a 125w cfl will NOT veg a 4x4 area.... it will do good for small clones for a while but after a month that isnt going to have the power to supply every plant will suffecient growth. 4x4 is 16 sq ft... a 125w cfl is like 7500 lumens... thats not even 500 lumens a sq foot. you can get the clones going but after that the light is good for 2 plants... that cant penetrate more canopies sufficiently than that. 3 is pushing it.

12 small clones will be fine until prob 3-5 nodes. after that like i said above. you need more light. you can do 2-3 good sized plants under that. i warn you, buds wont be dense like a hps or outdoor. and cfls will cause a lil more stretch than hps. trust your gut man.. you think it isnt enough than it isnt. throw more light in there when they get developed good. long as you dont bleach them.. you can add much light as u want man. aim for 2000 lux a sq ft. just passing along advice about things i have learned over the years growing. if you want to listen to the other guy than you can, just throwing this out there. good luck and hope it all goes good. i will follow your post

Seems like a good deal.
Just find your sweet spot

Lol, with a good reflector, it works just fine! I use a 125w CFL in half of my 8' veg tent. No problems at all, and I grow them 2 feet tall before I flip.
Clones need little light, 125 is overkill for rooting clones.
