12 plants under a 1000 watt light what should i yield??

I use 1000w on a light mover and use 5 gal paint buckets. Growing 9 plants in 'super soil' (the Yield was the same w/ 12 plants under the same 1000w) took almost 4 months from Veg to Harvest. (Super Lemon Haze) I got about 2.5 lbs from my first harvest (12 pants) and 2.4 lbs from my second harvest (9 plants). I recently finished a 3rd grow w/ 6 plants and barely got 1.5 lbs and took a little over 3 months (from Veg to Harvest) but it was a diffrent strain (Barney Farms, LSD)

In my opinion, you get the best yield from 9 plants + 1000w + light mover = about 2 lbs (+ or - .5 lbs)

I like having my plants close together horizontal and about 6 inches apart vertical. This way i can twist the buckets to help fill in gaps during flower. When you are done you should have every square inch used

First of all unless you are using a light mover 12 plants under 1 1000w light is to many... I usually Start with 8-10 under one light because 1 or 2 plants always seem to have a problem so I wind up with 6-7 healthy plants... a 1000w light is good for a 4x4 space and you should only have 1 plant per square foot which is 8 max... If you try to grow to many in that area all your plants will suffer for it..
Second there are to many variables to tell you what you should get... If you are a first time grower you will be lucky to get .5 grams per watt of light...
4x4 space is 16sq feet dude!!!!

44x4 is actually 16 sq feet

I'm a little worried about some of you, if you don't know 4x4 is 16 sq ft, google a sq ft calculator and do the math

Ok, I must be crazy but I currently have 17 girls under 1000k hps. they seem to be doing ok..3 weeks into flower and already have a few 1/4oz buds.

Yea that's about right, whoever said 8 plants per 4x4 under a 1000w light is probably not a grower. That's just nonsense...

I got 2 pounds from 1 plant on a 40 watt incandescent..............KIDDING,....... all I wanted to say is that it does seem that 12 plants is a lot for a 4x4 area..... wouldn't they have to be pretty small?? ...........that's it.....

I run 8 or 9 plants perpetual under my 1000w on a lightmover in my 4x4 tent, all strains are 8 weeks or less and harvest 1 plant a week. Have never done a straight full tent with all the plants starting at the same time. I average 2 to 2.5oz for my sativas and 2 to 3oz for my hybrids and indica dominant strains, also depends on any training I may have done. I only veg 2 or 3 weeks from clone depening on the strain. With my setup I could see pulling a pound if I started them all at the same time, more if all the plants were just my cashcropper strains.

Well tempers seem to be flaring on RIU lately but IMO 12 plants @50 days of veg in a 4x4 and the smart money is on overcrowding. People will do what they wish
and I am highly intrigued to see those big plants in a 4x4...bring on the stretch...lol

I posted a thread asking what I should do in regards to how many plants to put in a 4x4 area. I then did a Google search and I found dozen of threads saying they use 36 plants in a 4x4....

I personally am not interested in small plants meaning way to much to do with tiny plants. I'd rather 4 or 6 larger plants that I could be proud of.

I think I can get away with 6 plants in my 4x4 since I have 4 plants under a 400 right now in a 2x4 ebb and flow and I have some really pretty product and this is a first grow too. I'm upgrading to a 4x4 tent (Gorilla tent) and a 4x4 table with 40gal res and use my 2x4 tent with 2x4 table for a veg room and I'll top feed the plants instead instead of a "Ebb and Flow" for vegging, once the roots have established and are big enough I can put them in the bloom room which is 4x4, with the 600 and it can flood every 3 hrs for 15mins.

However after reading this thread I feel I should do 6 plants with 3 rows and 2 or 2 rows of 3. Ive seen many grows with 4 plants with a 400 and it was very successful and I also know the strain is a huge factor. I do not have a huge amount of experience but what I do know is, the 2 strains I used both were fed the same, vegged the same time, and used the same light, and one strain put out nearly double the product. One strain is White Widow x OG Kush and the other is White Widow x Big Bud.... Knowing how the strain grows is huge, I also failed at the SCROG I tried to set my SCROG up after 2 weeks in on 12/12 not so wise but you live and learn and become better.

Only way to learn is to try, and fail, and adapt.

I'm going to post a photo of my bud at 5 1/2 weeks, you can tell me what you want but this is 4 plants in a 2x4 tent vegged with a 400....

These are in a 5x9 tent. Using 4x6 1000w hps on a mover and 4 300w induction lights. Around 50 days of veg. 60 days from the day they were cut for clones. 022.jpg

I'd predict from my experience that you'll get between 1-2 ounces per plant depending on the strain.

Redzone, how long did you veg for after that pic at 5.5 weeks? Im sure you are done with that harvest, from start to finish were you 90 days to harvest? How much did you yield?

you should be baned from this site for giving out bad info like that. theres no way your pulling that much off a 1,000 watt. I grow 9 per 4 x 4 table and barley pull 18 zips. 12 plants is to much and he can expect 3 quarters of a pound roughly
many ppl get a lb per 600 in a 4x4 space.so only 18oz from a 1000 watter is below par.

.5 g/watt would be a spectacular accomplishment for a first time grower. There are so many variables to answer the question of this post properly. Just make sure sure you are well vented cause that light is gonna put out some heat. I would only do 6-8 under that light but if you have 12 let it roll. Good luck.
Is that .5g per plant or total?
