12/12 with auto-flowering

If your grow space has some auto-flowering plants, can you switch to 12/12 to accommodate the 'regular' growers? I'm about to switch to 12/12 and my auto-flowering has already begun it's flowering process. Thanks.

Okay cool I will swap to 12/12 this week and change my CFL over to a lower spectrum.

I’m a little worried about light leaks during flowering but I’m hoping the Amnesia Lemon won’t be too upset by some light coming through the cracks in the ‘drobe. Afterall – they put up with moon light right?

Thanks for the replies though – at worst I’m guessing it will hamper yields on the auto-flowering but it’s gotta be done if I want to flower my Amnesia.

The breeder Lowlife says that you should wait to flip to 12/12 until weeks 4-5 of flower, otherwise you will see a negative affect on yield and quality! protopipe1

Autoflowers should have at least 20 hrs of light. Taking them to 12/12 is not good. That's why autoflowers and photoperiod plants should never be in the same grow area, they have to many differing requirements.

Now that you are there you just have to decide which set of plants you want to place in some jeopardy since you cannot create desirable conditions for both.

I could give my regular plant just a bit more time vegging then - not a problem. Although thinking about moving over to the lower spec bulb - shouldn't be a probs with a warmer bulb in there would it?

when i start my short rider autoflowers i prolly will do 12/12 also..
I would say that would be a good plan (after 4-6 weeks vegging under 18/6)
Short rider is not quite an autoflower yet - Well, some might but I think most will find it to grow like a normal MJ plant -

Good luck though, keep me posted on how yours get on (if you dont mind?)

Amnesia,

What type of autoflower you growin buddy ?

Hey RedEye!

It's a White Moscow. It's actually growing under 12/12 hours 'warm' CFL at the mo 'cos I'm growing it with a regular strain. Probably take a little more to grow than the stated 10 weeks but it's surprised me by growing so many bud sites and a large main cola. Fingers cross I should get some good yield.
