This is my 5th grow, so I'm still an amateur, but learning every day. I have about 200 days of indoor growing here in the northeast. I can squeeze 2 grows in that window, drying time included.
This is the first.

I'll be growing 6 plants with a 35 day veg. in 5 gallon pots.

Here is what I'll be working with:
Apollo 5x5 mylar hydroponic tent
1000 watt 6" Apollo Horticulture air cooled hood with adjustable ballast
6" Hydrofarm inline fan (440 CFM)
iPower Air Carbon Filter
Fox Farm Ocean Forrest Soil
Fox Farm Nutrients (Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom and Grow Big)
Space heater for the night
Thermostat controlled humidifier
Distilled water

I had a bunch of freebie feminized seeds from Attitude. I finally decided to grow some of the quicker flowering strains.
Cali Connection Grape OG
Cali Connection Grape Kush
DNA Genetics Fuego
Humboldt Seed Organization Green Crack
Seedsman White Widow

I'm a couple of weeks into this grow but I have been taking notes. Here's how the first days have gone so far!
Questions, criticism and comments are welcome. That's the only way I learn anything!

I germinated my seeds using the paper towel method. I use 4" starter pots with Foxfarm Ocean Forrest soil. Watered with distilled water. I germinated and planted a few extra in case of any problems. I'll remove the extra plants as time goes on. Anything more than 6 plants in this tent has been counter productive.

I will start my light, 1000w MH, at 30" above the pots. Temperatures range 74-76 with humidity 40-45%.

Here we are after 14 days of veg. Lots of growth over the past week. Temps easily maintained at ~75 with R/H 39-42%. I've got my light 28" above the canopy.
Watered them with 1/2 strength nutrients and distilled water. I'm using the Foxfarm trio of nutrients.
I'll be transplanting them into 5 gallon pots soon.

Day 19
Transplanted 6 girls to 5 gallon pots. I should have done this days ago as the roots were starting to wrap risking a root problems. I think we are ok though.
I watered them with distilled water, no nutrients until second watering. My light is ~25" above the canopy. Fans oscillating. Temps 74-76. Going to keep humidity on the lower side, 35-40%.
I watered the two extra Widows. Wish I could give them a home. For now, they are extras.

Day 26
About a week away from the flip to 12/12 and we are cooking along. They are growing nicely post transplant. No signs of sex yet. These were all feminized seeds so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some pistols. The soil is still pretty moist after a week but this has been the norm after transplant. Fans are running so air is always moving. Temps are ranging 74-76 and I'm keeping the humidity a bit lower, 35-40%. Going to let these pots really dry out. I'm keeping an eye out for soil gnats that may emerge when the top soil is dry. Sticky traps are on each pot. These work excellent and should be deployed BEFORE you see them flying. Next watering will be with 3/4 strength nutrients. The White Widow #2 has been the leader of the pack thus far.

Day 30 of a 35 day veg.
Lots of explosive growth this week. The plants are thriving after the transplant. I've got my light 20-22" above the canopy. Temps are a steady 74-76 with R/H 37-40%. Night time temps are 62-63 degrees and the R/H climbs to ~50%. These seem to be very productive conditions. The pots have finally dried out after 12 days from their last watering. I'll be feeding with 1/2 strength nutrients tomorrow. I do a half-turn rotation every day. Still no signs of pre flower, yet!
5 more days of vegetation.

Week 1 of flowering after 36 days of vegging.
4 of the 6 have shown pre-flower. Waiting on the two GRAPE breeds to show. Flipped over to 12 hours of HPS. I watered them yesterday using only distilled water after a previous watering with half-strength nutes. They responded nicely with overnight growth and are happily pointing towards the light today. Their next feeding will be with full strength nutrients. I'm using the Foxfarm trio. Plants range from 13-17". I leveled off the canopy and currently have the lamp 23" above it. Temps range 74-76 degrees and the R/H 35-40%. Night temps 64-65 and R/H jumps to 50-55%.
Questions or comments welcome!

The plants in the last picture are, from left to right, top to bottom:
Fuego, White Widow, White Widow
Green Crack, Grape Kush, Grape OG
The 'white' is the White Widow
The 'fire' is the Fuego
Sorry for any confusion...

Today starts week 2 of flowering. All have shown pre flower so we have 6 healthy ladies. Watered them today with full strength nutrients. Plants range from 20-24" in height. These plants are all mostly indica and growing as such. Big fat finger leaves, short and thick stalks, bushy growth. The light is 20-22" above the somewhat even canopy. I increased the temps to 75-78 and lowered the R/H to 35%. I now have two small fans circulating air at pot level and two larger oscillating fans keeping good air movement just above the canopy.
Steady as she goes!

Day 20 of flowering with this grow. Six healthy girls watered with full strength nutrients today. Lots of powder puff bud sites appearing daily. Vertical growth should slow to a crawl as they focus on flower production. I can't imagine growing any more than six plants in a 5x5. We are wall to wall in 5 gallon pots. The girls range from 24-34". Temps throughout this grow have been 74-78 degrees and the humidity is running ~35%. Night time temps are 63-65 degrees with humidity rising to 40-50%. 2 fans are pushing air above the canopy and two small fans are keeping the air moving at pot level. My light has been 20" the canopy with no heat issues.
The tallest plant has featured raised edges on her leaves. I was worried when I first saw this. After reading posts on raised edges on leaves I concluded this was either a heat related problem or just the plants normal growth. At least for this girl, it's normal healthy growth. She has thrived since she broke through the dirt. She was a White Widow seed that I got from an older grow with a couple hermies giving me a few seeds. So I can't really say she's a true White Widow, but she's healthy... whatever she is. The third picture shows her raised edges. All my plants droop their leaves just before lights out and after a watering. Her and her sisters will be pointing their leaves upward come morning.
These pictures are always terrible in HPS light. I will take some better at lights out.
Any questions or comments are welcome.IMG_1841.JPGIMG_1845.JPGIMG_1846.PNG

Day 25 of flowering and bud production continues. Powder puffs popping and filling out. I've got lots of nice under growth. Rotation and air movement is so important with these bushy Indicas. Plants are about 36" and I don't expect too much more vertical growth. I watered the Grape OG a day earlier than the others. She responded with her top leaves pointing almost straight up. You can see the underside of her leaves. I'll water the rest tomorrow with distilled water. Temps are 75-77 (63-65 night). Light 18-20" above the canopy. R/H 32-35% (40-50% night).
Keeping it very simple.

Pistols and Crystals
Day 28 Flowering Week 5/8
Last day of week 4 has six ladies with buds fattening nicely. Really nice response to their watering with the buds really puffing out. Pistols and crystals forming as trichomes start to develop on the leaves. I will water the Grape OG tomorrow and the others on Saturday. Vertical growth has stopped. Final approximate heights are as follows.
37" White Widow 2
34" Green Crack
33" Grape OG
32" Fuego
30" White Widow 1
30" Grape Kush
These last four weeks are crucial with rotation and ventilation/circulation making a huge difference in the lower branch bud sites. Temps remain 75-77 and R/H 30-35%. The light will stay at 17-20" above the canopy.

Day 38 Flowering New Years Day 2017
Watered the fattening girls this morning with distilled water, the Grape OG was fed yesterday. Noticing a wine colored shading in the Grape OGs large upper fan leaves. This is the start of leaf change that results in purple 'grape' colored leaves. Should end up being a pretty plant.
With under 20 days to go all the ladies look healthy and happy. Pointing to the light which shines from 18-20" above. The White Widow is more wispy and thin branched with nice buds. A few stakes may be needed for support and to provide room for her neighbors.
Temps 75-78 and R/H 30-35%. Not much left to do but watching for problems and rotating them every other day. Last nutrient feeding this week then nothing but distilled water from there.
Pictures are always crappy under HPS but you can see the veins starting to turn purple on the Grape OG in picture #1.
Picture #4 shows the wispy White Widow.
