That chart is cool but being that close how do u keep the sides of the plant getting light leaving the light that close?? I found when I place my light higher up it helps to feed the stuff around the sides a little better
Thats why I move my buckets to fill 4x4 to 4.5x4.5 ft area depending on height of the light and subsequent lighted area. I still have some branches on the edge of my canopy that aren't very well lit but i cut bottom nodes off them and they are slowly catching up to the canopy

The way i see it there is no benefit in growing any bigger of a canopy then what can fit in the ideal light range unless you have light movers. Anything less than 32" is less then the plant can use (sunlight strength). If your light is 32" from the top everything under the top is getting less then it can use (smaller buds). If you get it 24" away there is 8" of vertical space where there is prime light which is where most of your main colas will form

so what your saying is 24 from the canopy is max?? Hell I bet im way closer to 40" from my canopy which im not doing a scrog net I just pull my top colas down toward the ground where they all kinda get close to even height

No 24" is not the maximum you can grow a plant 6' from the 1000w bulb but it's not the most efficient use of light. I can go as close as 18" with my light sealed and vented with my 400 cfm fan. In flower after the stretch I go as close as possible without burning/ stressing anything I would call 32" my maximum for flower and 36" for veg

Cool yeah I have a sealed aircooled 1000w tha5s vented to another room with an 8" inline hydrofarm fan hooked up and im prolly 40" above it and I feel like my sides are barely getting light but my plants are touching all 4 walls in a 6x8 room amd thats just 2 plants

Well it's no wonder a 1000w is great for 5x5 maybe 6x6 with a parabolic reflector but not much bigger. Also the glass kills about 15% of your lumens i believe i would remove it until its 100% necessary to prevent burns

Hell im using a magnum xxl hood and im gonna have over 20 bags off of 2 plants so to say im unhappy would be a lie! But yeah my room stays around 80 all day with lights on so I kinda have to have the glass in

i am shooting for 28-30 oz. In my last grow I averaged .85 grams per watt with 2 400w (one hps one mh) and my plants (7 total) finished at less then 2 feet tall

this is my first comolete grow under my 1000w. Ill have to check my avg but I wanna find something to do for side light on my next grow!

You'd do better to make the most of the light you do have and lower it at least to 32". 2 600w lights would suit your grow room better based on its footprint

20 oz is .6 grams per watt but i bet if you had that light lower you could see .8 gpw easy maybe even crack 1gpw (a kilogram from a kilowatt is a long term goal of mine)

I have a 600 in my veg room growing 2 monsters as we speak too!
600w is overkill imo a friend of mine has 25 plants in half gallon pots filling a 4x4 grow tent with a 400w to veg and he keeps his light 2' above the plants. Get a 400w to veg and bing bang you got a 600w to add to the bud room

My 600 isnt aircooled though and that very well may put my flower room over the top with heat. Also idk if my yields will be that much greater running an extra 600 in my flower room that is a 6x8?? Not to mention im only cegging for 4-5 weeks, if u wanna pm me we can move this off the op thread?? Lol

Its day 6 of 12/12 and after moving some plants around my bowl shaped canopy is finally taking shape! One of my GSC has completely exploded in the last 6 days and I'm almost concerned it will grow so much root mass it will break her bucket. Let me know what you think. The 3rd picture is the stalk on my Big Cookie

I'm hoping my big cookie will make up for the 2 cookies that suffered serious transplant shock and are still the smallest 2 plants of the 14.

Had to do some training on my 3 strawberry diesels. I pinched the stems of the highest branches about 4-6" from the top just so they bent at a 90 degree angle or a little lower (but still very much attached)
