100 watts vs 600

Last year I used a 1000 w HPS lamp with very nice results. This year I was thinking about a lower watt lamp to reduce heat and power usage. What can I expect with a lower watt outfit? Will there be less THC production? Will the plants still produce large buds. With, let's say a 600 watt lamp, can I grow as many plants as my 1000 watt did?

AS many plants? light does not affect number of plants just how a plant performs. a 600w HPS emits 90,000 lumens. 1000w hps emits 140,000 lumens. plant love light. I dont you would see a huge difference. 1000w is good for 8 sq ft. 600w is good for 6sq ft. all depends how many plants you have.

Not only how many plants you have but how big you would like them to get.

Explain more about your area, growing technique, medium, pot size, etc and somebody can give you a better answer

I have found personally that a 1000w and a 600w are pretty equivalent except that a 1000w can cover a larger area. I can ride my 600w light lower than a 1000w so the plants don't really know difference. But my 1000w being higher covers more area with the same light intensity.

I would definitely say that I've found 600w to be more efficient though. I don't have to run my A/C with my 600w so a 1000w really becomes a an 1800w difference and thereore gigantic.
