I bought this light thinking i could just use it like my others. But it won't work in regular sockets. What do i need to screw this in to make it work?

The 125w, 200w, 250w and 300w cfl grow lights usually require a larger (E40 Screw) lamp holder due to an above average size base. If it actually fits your regular sockets but still doesn't turn on, then it's possible that it's a broken bulb. Pick up an E40 hanger (about £6 from eBay) and hopefully that will work. The pictured bulb looks more powerful than 100w.

Does that type of CFL use a mogul socket? I don't think that style is for standard socket, maybe wrong. I am using the larger CFLs with a standard socket w/ a clamp on fixture. My opinion is with clamp ons, you place the light high or low onto the plants. CFLs are the way to go for tight grow area's. HID HPS and MH are to damn hot, yet they say they are the best lights to go with, I disagree, try to locate a HPS along the sides of the plant, in-between the plants, using CFLs, now that is getting the light to them. I am waiting for that super CFL that is to be out soon, possibly by the fall 2010. Good Luck on your grow...

Yes, try a mogul extension or E40 holder. Which country did you purchase it from, it may cause some variation in the base. I picked up a 125w CFL the other day which i've now figured will require a different holder.

A super bulb, what's that like. Do you have a link? Do you mean the 300w CFLs you can sometimes buy?
