100 gallon smart pots indoors

as long as those are native to your frosty area they should be good to go!
they really do make a nice addition to the soil
Yeah actually I was thinking temperatures the other way around - those they're selling are for the outdoors, so maybe that specific compost worm strain isn't so good for the indoors. Also, I find my red wigglers romp all the way through the 15cm depth they have, I imagine they'd go deeper in soil that is a more "developed" form of this:

I love my wormbin, if I could shrink myself I'd join the wigglers for a dive haha, the first generation of babes just hatched too:D

Very cool! I'm gonna chat worms a little bit with my worm lady and figure out what use off of what they have.
Ah great, do let us know what she said!

Cheers :bigjoint:

heh, "honey I shrunk the vermicomposter"
just make sure you aren't too small, those trichodermas are hungry beasts

Damn. Actually I was thinking on worm scale there.
But now you've got me thinking, "what microorganism would you want to be"? haha
yeaaaa, worms are some encumbersome, that i'd choose a hungry trich to ride on top and see what horrors you'd encounter.
tell ya what..
invent the "shrinker" and we'll go together!
umm... you first though..
cuz those microbes are some gnarly lil beasties

Sure thing, I'm not scared, I got amazing critter taming skills

But then you get to take over the shrinker invention part, my math's really bad at the mo :P

Why you insist on riding a fungus though, it's like sitting in a tree! I'm preeeetty sure that trichoderma's stuck in your mind but actually you meant someone else :-P

Here's a suggestion for a nice ride: a shaggy weaselwalrus-dragon! :bigjoint:
Does some wild moves for excitement, but also glides around the aggregates like a tourist boat haha

Sooo still waiting for my root balls

I have concerns about fungus gnats tho...i know they're gonna thrive under that straw. Im curious to know if my typical methods for dealing with them would create adverse effects for my worm population.
I bet i sound like some captain here but what about adding some nematodes ; the s. Feltiae.. i am going to try them for for the first time. My permaculture buddy said i will love em. I don't know if they die without gnats to feed on . They will die without food but they eat more than just gnats and can live in cold cold. Maybe there is a non harmfull bug they can eat while there are no gnats. Also a few gnats won't hurt so if you have them constantly nematodes should be perfect otherwise i think you will need a top dressing that will act as a barrier.

Nematodes can be hard for me to come by locally but if I can get a hold of some I'll definitely add them. Im gonna have a huge layer of straw, hopefully that discourages them...but I have concerns about it encouraging them as well.

I'll be following a bit and we'll see about the straw i think it won't stop em. I used amozon to order my toads.

My bastard sword won't be done until after Christmas or else I'd post a picture with my sword! I'm not a pretty girl tho...But it is a bitching custom sword.
Haha and as an extra plus it'll be a real one - that's just a wooden one for play  ohlol.. take it away, ttysytikk ;)
Mmm and do you plan to use it too?

Haha yeah I talked myself out of doing this a million times. I wanted to switch over to a no til approach but I wanted to be able to do it in raised beds...but I kept telling myself "You don't wanna carry in all that dirt...you probably don't need all that dirt." But then the other voice in my head keeps going on about "container gardening and the limitations it creates..." And then I'm looking at pots at the grow store and a 100 gallon pot is only 10 bucks more than a 30 gallon...then next thing I know I'm carrying 1,200 pounds of compost into my basement.

These are definitely gonna be monsters. Expect bushes. Bushes that will burn! Getting into some biblical shit y'all. Lol.
Hey rasta my mother in law gave me this a year or so ago... bushes been burnin since the bible man :)

Hey how did you like running two plants per 30 gallon container? Im runnin 27 gallon totes right now ands its gettin to be quite the jungle with 32 plants in 6 totes...
Do you mind me askin about the yield of your two plants per container?

I keep track of yield by light, I make notes of the other stuff...but light is my marker. I was pulling a pound to a pound a half per 1000 watt light, three tubs (six plants) per light...but there's a lot of factors to consider...this was about three years ago...I was still using mineral based nutes, I was experimenting with scrog growing for the first time, wasn't using co2 yet, my room environment was shaky at best. And my understanding of cannabis growing wasn't even at bro science levels. I was just doing what a buddy showed me.

I would probably do better now, or at the least do the same without spending 800 bucks a round on nutes.

I think you'd like it more than 27 plants crammed into six totes you got going now.

Yeah i went for more plants this round out of impatience and boredom.
1. I wanted to fill my canopy and flower sooner
2. I often grow 1 large plant per bed and i wanted to try something new
3. For about a year i couldnt clone consistently to save my life. Then i found a system that worked for me and suddenly i had way too many little babies.

I have one tote in there with 2 older plants only and then 5 with six plants each. It will be fun to see how they grow...just not as much fun to hand water.

Thank you for the response. Im excited to see the 100 gallon beds indoors :) they will make my 2.5 x 2.5ft beds seem tiny!

Ive gone back and fourth a lot over the years (and still am lol) with using more plants to fill the canopy quicker, or less plants and longer veg time (for bigger stalks and root systems). I tend to lean towards less plants but bigger plants with stronger stalks and bigger root balls but I think the most important thing is a full canopy. Regardless of how you get there.
