Please don't use miracle grow, that stuff sucks and will kill your babies and don't touch it like you did in the second picture. Other than that, they look healthy. P.s Don't put a fan directly on them, they are too young.

I and plenty of other people use MG with great success. So many people treat MG like its the antichrist or something. You say Mg and people run for the hills. You say MG and people look at you like you murdered someone. It's ridiculous, do you seriously think you can absolutely in no way grow with MG?? I think alot of beginners buy MG run into problems because they are noobs then blame it on the soil. I guarantee you give an accomplished grower MG and they will make it work well. Agreed it's not the best, but you can easily grow great marijuana from start to finish. Especially the organic choice MG. It's all organic material with light organic ferts derived from chicken litter. Whats wrong with an all natural soil with manure ferts?? The last bag I bought of MG Organic had a nice rich manure/farm scent to, I knew it was good from the smell. I mix it with perlite, lime, and diatomaceous earth. Do you speak from experience, have you tried it? These are my current plants in MG, do they look horrible? https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/437567-my-medical-grow-progress.html

Uhm all the growers I personally know have been growing for 10 years+ and they all warned me about MG. I also don't know anyone who would give their babies nutes when they are less than 3 weeks old. I also didn't say you cannot grow using MG, obviously you can, its just not recommended. Why use a shitty cheap brand when you can get better soil, your ladies obviously deserve it?? With help from the people who I know, they gave me good pointers for growing GOOD pot and it so happened that they said MG was shitty. Go to my profile and look in my album, I may not be an 'expert' yet but I still know how to grow?! My girls seem to be pretty fine. Btw no I haven't tried growing marijuana with MG so you're right, I have no experience growing them in that kind of soil. I'm not going to say your plants look horrible, whatever floats your boat. I just think they would be better in different soil and separate pots but that's just my opinion.

Thanks man for commenting on my grow photos. I'm not literally using the MG shake and feed yet but the Shultz I have heard very good reviews. I agree with the stretching and I just lowered my light about 2 inches away from each plant. If you would recomend a soil to use that I can Local pickup that would be great. Not trying to spend $40 on Fox Farm though.
Have been using the exact same Schultz liquid feed with good results...and also a total CFL grow! I'm now on my fourth round of plants, so I've learned a bit on keeping them green (on a budget). I use the Schultz for flowering now because it has a higher 'P' that is good in budding. For a higher 'N' during the veg stage, I've been using Jacks Classic that comes in a small plastic tub. Its a blue granule form that you dissolve in the water. Got it from my local 'garden center/nursery store' as the Depot didn't carry it. When the plants get close to being changed into flower mode, I use both feeds together to build them up and get them as green and strong as possible.

Keep the CFLs within 2-3 inches if you can, but be careful since they WILL burn a plant if touching it. You can also bury those stretched stems up to the seed leaves and it will grow more roots from the buried part. Good luck and happy growing!

Oh, BTW...I've done all my grows in MG soil that feeds for 3-6 months. I add MG Perlite to their potting mix to help drainage. I've used a seed starter soil recently, but since it has no nutes in it, you need to repot once they get a few nodes and really start to grow. When they're ready to repot, I just pop them into the MG mix and they're good to go. I would be very careful about using any nutes until your plants are 2-3 weeks old - and then, start with a very diluted dose. Young plants will get nute burned easily if you over feed them. Also, it would be better if you didn't water every 1-2 days...letting them dry out a bit will encourage the roots to grow in search of water, which strengthens the whole plant and makes for more robust growth. Wait until the soil is just dry enough to begin pulling away from the cup edges. The best method is to feel the weight of the cup when fairly dry, water them until you get some runoff, and then do not water again until their weight is similar to the dry soil.

LOL-Forgot to mention...you can get white posterboard or silver mylar gift wrapping film from a dollar store to use as reflective wall covering. They also have a variety of plastic buckets, cans and pails that can work great for plants - just drill your drainage holes and you've got a really cheap pot!

Please stop spreading miss-information, MG is perfectly okay to use...just follow the directions, repress the urge to over feed, and watch your plant for sings of burn..most people start with half to a quarter does at first. Remember all plants take nutes differently, the sharks breath i am growing will take all i can throw at it, the white rhino i had would burn very very easy...

Don't knock till you've tried it!! Growing is anything, but set in stone. Different strokes for different folks. Some people hate MG some people see through the rhetoric. I would say speak from experience and don't jump on the hate MG bandwagon. It seems to me everyone just says what they just read about MG.

Looks like you might want to move your lights a little closer to me.

Would be good if there was a Sticky on this website about the topic of MG

I agree that Mg can be used to grow herb. I also agree with your statement that Mg is not the best soil for growing cannabis. You can grow your plants in plain dirt you find outside. I think that born2shine and his or her friends want the best for their plants. So im not surprised they are hostile to MG. If you want the best soil medium for your plants you wont find it at home depot. Much respect to everyone

Obviously I'm not a 'nubie' grower, look at my album.

I guess you are right about that. I might try it with my next crop.

Your album looks great by the way borntoshine. What is your preferred soil mix? What kind of plants are those?

Sunshine mix number 4. I put more perlite in it though, add dolomite lime and worm castings. I also top it off with leca. Green crack and ak47
