1 Pound Plant, Living Soil.

I do the same, I doubt that chlorine really does much to hinder the life in the soil anyways mate, especially not when it’s a large volume of soil with a wide footprint, I read somewhere that it’s all gone pretty much as soon as it makes contact as theirs so much to oxidise straight away as soon as contacts made, the exception would be when brewing microbial teas in which case I use a vitamin c product to dechlorinate the water

do you top dress throughout the cycle? And if so what do you use ?

I used to but my last grow I didn't add anything but water. I am going to try that again this grow. Nothing but water. Sometimes less is more.

Awesome grow dude, so much sphagnum! I do it kinda like that also. Whats your watering routine? I do it once a week regardless the pot size on the same mix.

I water 4 to 6 times a day for 90 seconds each time. My 4 plants use about 120L of water/week. I try to keep my vpd around 1kpa so they transpire a lot. My poor dehumidifier gets quite a workout when I do this but the plants grow quickly.

Thats a lot of water for 80gals of sphagnum right? But then again if the vpd is optimal things moving fast i guess. Im just trying to figure out the vpd thing. My vpd if i read it right is around 1.50- 1.60. Temps 80, rh 45%... That sucks right?

So if your rh is around 40% it means you have low temperatures? Or how else would it stay at 1kpa?
Lotta questions :eyesmoke:

Temp is set for 87⁰f, humidity is set to 75%. My vpd range is .9-1.1kpa. For veg and the first 6 weeks of flower. Then I drop to everything and keep my temp at 72⁰f and humidity as low as I can get it, usually 55-60% to preserve terpenes.

All that being said I am currently growing Malawi with a 15 to 20 week flowering time so I will probably deviate from what I did on past grows and keep my vpd at a low vpd aroung 1kpa until week 14-15. Then drop temps to preserve terpenes while I finish off the plants.

Temps fluctuate about 5⁰f and 5% humidity depending if the ac or dehumidifier running or are off. But gives a basic idea how I run things.

Yeah, i set my dehumidifier at 50% but it never gets that low. The dehumidifier runs pretty consistently at the end of flower. The plants just transpire too much. I wish I was able to afford the Quest 110 when I bought my dehumidifier but could only afford the Quest 70. It works but barely.
