00 seeds chocolate Skunk auto

I planted 5 and only one grew. The rest either didn't pop or died before they broke ground.. Very disappointing.
Has anyone else ever tried these seeds? I'm bummed because I was really looking forward to them.

Yes, I'm growing one now the feminised Chocolate Skunk, not the auto version though.
It's one of my fastest growers, about 10cm high, smells good. I'm pretty impressed with it, so ordered some more, sounds like you got a bad batch which happens from time to time.:cry:.....

How moist did you keep the soil after you dropped the seed into it? If it dries out that's not good...

I finished one last month , no problems. It was an auto , I planted in a 3 gallon pot after it germed. I used FFOF from start to finish and was happy with it.

Every 00 seed I got has popped. I'm not sure your method of grow and germination , but start floating the seed in PH water for 24 hours ( whether it sinks or not ) , then I place in a Plain paper towel ( damp ) between 2 paper plates ( with a small towel to cover and keep in dark ). In 24 -36 hours I always get a taproot this way. But I check them every 12 hours to keep paper towels damp. ( spray bottle ).

I PREPARE the container ( 24 hours ) in advance by adding my mix - 20% more perlite , mix by hand . I fill container 1/2 full then add 3 TBS of crushed lime ( dolomite garden ) over soil. ( to help keep the soil PH in check thruout grow ). Sometimes my soil exhaust itself early so , add as a preventative.

Spray with PH water to dampen ( not over wet ) - then I cover with remaking soil.
The trapped dampness helps activate soil. When ready to plant seed , 1/4 inch hole and cover . Light water mist to topsoil. Cover with Saran ( clear Wrap ) secure with tape or rubber band and wait.

This creates a humid condition that sparks the seeds growth.

I keep the soil moist, but never too moist. I plant directly in soil about 1/4 inch deep, never had a problem before.
Of all the plants i've grown (and I've grown a lot, over 100) there's only been a few duds. Usually everything i plant grows!
I think I got a bad batch of seeds really.

I've read that if a seed floats its no good. Anyone have any science to back this up?

Anyway, the one plant that did sprout is doing great at 8 weeks! ill get a picture up soon.

Were they from a seed bank ? I haven't got any bad stock ( yet ) but if there is a website to avoid , let me know

I got them from herbies, same place I get all my seeds. This was my first time with 00 seeds though. I just planted 4 of their auto Afghan Mass so I'm hoping they will be better!

Actually I started off with that method in 1977. Now I've taken up growing again, I just chuck the seed straight into the pot I'm going to finish her in.
I know others may disagree or have their own tried and trusted ways, but my eyesight aint as good when I was listening to the Eagles,way back then to be messing around that way again.
The thing is, not to over water which is always the risk/temptation in a bigger pot.

I hope you didn't mind 'borrowing' earlier your post., but the subject was 00 Chocolate and you cant find much reading on that....
I'm growing it because its basically a Mazari + the skunk so thought it would be similar to GH LSD which totally blew me away.

I've ordered a few more of the CS, not the auto's, I'm sold on them, its really a rich smell during veg and fascinating to watch its progress....
Pleeeeeeeeeease, please give us all a smoke report on it...????
Have you done a grow report, am anxious to read up all I can on this strain, but can only content myself with the DP Mazari & LSD reports.

Thanks man! I'll definitely be putting up a smoke report here as soon as she's ready!
As happy as I am with her, I'm very reluctant to buy 00 seeds again, given that out of the 5 seeds I bought I only got 1 plant.
Same deal with their auto Afghan Mass, bought 5 and they are all doing poorly.
