For example I want to see someones old grow journal but it has 200 pages of text and 30 posts from the actual user. Is there a way so i can only see what that person posted in his post?

Click the users name (to the right of their avatar) then click "Find all posts by *" and it will list all the posts only that user posted. I don't know of a way to do it by-thread but this will work for what you need.
