I got a message this morning my account was banned for multiple accounts.
I only have one, well, now I have this one too because I couldn't log in to talk with the staff.
Now I'm unable to PM directly to the RIU staff and my emails don't show they are going through.
How do I contact staff and plead to the RIU council or PM them to fix this?

I guess this is the way. I wonder if you're sharing the same IP with someone else.

I was using one of those sites to hide my IP and so I'm thinking that might be why it showed multiple.

Hopefully Rolli or a mod sees this, then.

I dunno . . . I'd imagine I'm not the only RIU member whose spouse also has an account, on the same IP. (I'd think?)
We both belong to several forums. I can't imagine simply sharing a connection would merit expulsion? Must be something deeper?

The message I got was "multiple banned accounts. I'm assuming that
the IP hider I was using must of been giving out the same IP to a lot of others on here too.

The only other person that used my computer to come on here has not been here since around October and they did not use an IP hider nor did their account get banned.

My spouse and I both have accounts here, with separate usernames. However, since I'm not familiar with the software's capabilities, nor what other problems they may have encountered with this person's IP, I can't venture much more of a guess than what I already have.

I have to wonder if the proxy server was hosting spammers as well now.

I just searched the IP that I was using before I was banned and it was an open proxy server.
Not sure exactly what that means, but from the searching I did, it was used a lot and was on a black list.

And here I thought having an IP address that showed I was in Woodstock would be cool.

I also received this message. I started this account to ask a question regarding my ban. I also used a proxy site to browse. It states I am banned forever for having multiple banned accounts. My previous username was "Landragon" and this sucks. I never broke any rules and never had an account before that one. I will not use this account except to look here and find out what is going on. Mods, please check into the situation as the human typing these words was never known on riu as any alias other than this one and Landragon. Noone else shares my connection. Thank you.
