gee, thanks roots......fucking worthless shit......sorry, had to get that off my chest........without a pic, can't really help much to identify, but you will have to treat before use......without knowing exactly what it is, hard to recommend a treatment....hope someone in the know will chime in....i got lucky, and my roots didn't come with problems, besides being inferior......but now i use other bases and don't have any troubles...sorry to hear bro....but fortunately, treatment is relatively painless.....good luck brother.

Its either Gnats (Azamax Drench) or Thrips ( Spinosad drench and spray in veg)

Gnats eat roots fly around thrips leave little pecker tracks on ya leaves once they emerge

What about Mighty Wash, heard ppl like it and its not as harsh a chemical. Also I think I had read a thread in the Organic threads about some spicy pepper water mixture will help keep pests off ur plants and dirt, but it needs to be sprayed ever few days or sumptin. Haven't had a pest problem yet myself so I can't say if it works or not.

Use Go Gnats..its Cedar oil..it will kill them quick w no effect on plants.
It kills lots of diff. insectects and larvi.

I run it in my rez always...never a problem,if not gnats kill me.

if its mites, sns-217 and azamax combination works and its a natural/organic treatment... i fought mites for 2 years before using this combo.. hit em every 3-4 days consistently.. been mite free for at least 5 cycles now.. stopped keeping track,. and all i do is spray em once with azamax as i transition em into flower and also a couple of weeks into veg, just as a preventative.

also i hear a lot of people say they dont like roots this and that, ive had nothing but EXCELLENT results with roots organic soil. its always consistent, and great stuff.. maybe its not roots, maybe its the way your source is storing their soil and all their soil is infected.

Shit, if they're predatory mites they are welcome in my garden. I'll take care of room, board, and transportation for those little fuckers.

Can you drop them off at the Greyhound station for me?

It sounds to me like gnat larvae. Gnatrol WDG is an excellent means of control for gnat larvae, if that is what they are. Its active ingredient is bt ( bacillus thuringiensis ) and will decimate most insects in the larval stage.
