Topping and Cloning from Seed

I'm soon to be popping some seeds and seen that Subcool says mature plants produce the best bud. So my question is how long from seed should I wait to bud? Top? Take Clones?

And lastly how many runs on a lady need to be ran before you decide whether or not it's a keeper?

Bud/flowering ... depends on strain, but you can usually go to flower in 4-6 weeks. Also, how much room and how big you can let your plants get determines when you decide to flower. The longer the veg, the bigger/fuller the plant, the greater the yeild. Clones, wait to see if the plant you are growing is a vigorous plant. Usually, there is no point in taking clones from a runt (although lots of people say not to count the runt out, LOL). If the plant shows pre-flower and you are able to determine sex, it's growing well and looks healthy, that's probably a good plant to take clones from.

Your last questions about how many runs ... Well, that is hard to answer IMO. You may know right away ... 1st generation and the product is top notch, or it may take 3 generations for the strain to stablize. I know a guy that whill only grow a strain for 3 generations before determining if it's a keeper.
