Thread: using tea and organic mixtures

Do any RIU users use the compost tea methods? my dad has a large duck pond wich drains all the duckshit and organic fertiliser in through the sump he gathers it and used to use it for his soil grows do you think this would be suitable for hydro nutrients? he tells me its very high in nutrients and doesnt see why it wouldnt.

I wouldnt use pond water as it could invite pest and who knows what but before I worked with super soil I used what we called Poo stew. Poo stew is a combination of organic ferts like pure blend, fox farm, earth juice, b-cuzz and even AN's organic tea.
I simply mix up a batch and let it circulate adding air from a stone until the mix started breaking down which lowers the acidic ph of the teas basically once it starts stinking a bit the plants will love it.
I found my results were never repeatable though and I would have great crops and crops I fried which is why I came up with a recipe that was repeatable IE super soil.
Poo stew kicks ass but you need to keep some records and come up with a system that works and its repeatable.
