genetics question, or just dreaming

Is it possible to have two seperate strains on one plant, the reason im asking is, Im a medical user, and i can only grow up to five plants at a time to avoid a felony conviction if caught. I can only grow one strain to get the yeild that i need to sustain my self untill the next crop's harvest. so i have to suffer in certain area's of benifit. the choice of a sativa or a indacia can some times be a difficult decsion because some times my pain is worse and a indiaca would be better for that, and sometimes a sativa would be better , we all know that difficult decsion of what type to plant.
But maybe im just dreaming , but if you could grow the two differnt plants as one that would get past the legal parts and provide the releif thats needed in both ways.
I know that they can do this with apple trees and differnt types of fruiting plant . but how would you do this for a cannibis plant??

ok i get the grafting thing but if you pollonated that plant would you get to differnt kinds of strains or would it mix the two???

First off you can graft marijuana plants but I have no idea about the legality of say a 5-strain in one plant. But while it can be done you have to remember that each cutting will retain its original genetics so as it appears you would want you would get whatever number of different strains as you grafted from the one plant you would really have to think out things like growth patterns and flowering times and even nutrient needs or sensitivity when you picked what all to graft.

If not you can end up with something with a growth pattern that would make you think it was being raised next to a nuclear power plant or maybe a toxic waste dump and have fun harvesting the same plant several or so times unless everything you picked to graft was so genetically similar that it all finished at close enough to the right time that you could harvest it all.

Now maybe I have been totally dense and until now not realized what you were actually asking.

If you meant could say a mother plant have multiple other strains cloned onto it so each donor/mother had two or more different strains to take clones from I think that would be the way to go. Then you can make runs of things that are the same or similar enough to not be a pain but still have the ability to switch things up.

Unless you would have to break some law to get the clone to graft onto your donor/mother plant I don’t see where any laws would be broken. If the law says number of plants but places no number limit on strains as long as you did not break a law getting your clone to graft you still would only have the same number of plants.

If someone were to be checked and they counted all the donor/mother plants, as would be expected, they would likely half expect them to be somewhat ungainly shaped at times due to clones having been taken from here and there.

Unless the person would be checked while the graft was still bandaged I doubt anyone would ever spot the additions and if they did and looked half close at them still not think anything odd about it plus you still only have ‘X’ number of plants and if that is all the limiting the law is/does and no law was broken to make use of a possible gray area what can you be charged with, possibly having come up with a legal way to stretch the law a bit?

I say research grafting and then practice some and next make yourself some multi-strain donor/mother plants and add to them every chance you get if something good happens your way.

I would try everything you can to increase yields first, so that you can run more strains. Try vegging longer, lst, sc, hydro or bubble, whatever you can. Doing all that is still easier than grafting.

I took two cuttings each a different strain, cutting each clones stem right up the center and "braided" the clones together then tied them to each other with waxed dental floss, not the minty kind! Dipped them in a rooting gel compound and ta dah! two strains growing as one, I took it a step further and let it veg for almost three months then took clones and I can say this much the clones grew out to have hints of flavor from each strain I used, I knick named it "Frankenstein" which later turned to "Frankie" It was a great plant, part unknown afghani and Big bud, all was lost when the cops got a hold of it...... I do plan to retry this experiment using a strain called Afgooey and a Korean Skunk.....
