Default Jillybean
I just ordered some Jillybeans seeds! I ordered them last night from Attitude so they should be here in about a week. I guess subcool would be the authority on the question but please if you have grown the strain chime in!

These will be grown, (organically of course!), outdoors in FL. The average low night temperature only drops down to 55 in January. Should I start some seeds ASAP for this season? Would it be better to start with a spring start for next season? If these seeds were put into the towel to pop next week when should be window for harvest be?

I'm looking forward to be growing a real A+ strain. I was torn between Agent Orange, Vortex, and Jillybean. I guess the fruity sativa won me over. Also they are described to be a little smaller. A 10ft monster could be a problem so I went with Jillybean.

Are there any other strain specific tips to know about? Please share any and all experiences!

Hey man...crazy to think about you starting the next season when I'm not finished with this one.

If you're able to start indoors I'd do it as soon as you wanted to put any outside before spring because they may flower early. But you say you don't want a monster so I don't think there's any reason to put any out before april/may.

I'm only growing one jilly so I can't give a lot of insight. She could be a heavy feeder...I have her in super soil in a big hole in the ground, but the roots have long grown out into the native soil. She started to yellow around week 2/3 flower but I decided to just let her ride it out instead of giving more N. She sheds a lot of fan leaves but grows new ones and stays very healthy. Seven weeks flower now, she is eight foot and was topped three or four times. If you get rain late in the season it'll need support I had a few branches snapped.

Good luck man...she smells soo amazing.

Wow an 8 footer thats pretty big. I would love a big haul of super quality stuff like this. The only indoors I could do is 2-3 weeks on 18/6 then they would have to go outside. So I would be putting them out in early october. I have been growing organics for years but this would be my second marijuana grow. It would be 100% organic not semi organic fox farms. The best results I get out of crops is with quality compost and soil composition and I'm a big fan of Nature's Harvest fish and seaweed fertilizer. The winter season down here is really dry, we are just leaving the wet season now. Flowering early is fine with me, I would be stoked even with just a couple ozs per plant. I think I will split the seeds, start 5 ASAP to grow and harvest this winter. Then next spring I'll do the other 5 and maybe some Vortex.

How many weeks does Jillybean flower for?

Man I don't know about growing in the winter....it seems like something just wouldn't work but I can't really say with no experience. Flower is supposed to be around 60 days depending on pheno.

My Jillybeans just came in today. I'm going to pop a couple right now for this season. Just two for now, I'm not sure how this growing in winter thing goes. Living and growing in the South is still all new to me. 60 days is pretty quick. Wish me luck!

When do you guys think is the best time to harvest JillyBean to get that "energizing, happy, mood enhancing" high? How much of the trichs should be amber, if at all? I have 1 JillyBean going right now, about 2 1/2 weeks into flower and already frosty as fuck. I know for sure she's gonna be a keeper!

I harvest at 1/3 amber, still energizing.

Heres a shot of my Jillys at 49 days under a 1000w hps. The second one was switched from 1000w to 400w cmh and temp drops for about 5 days now(before I would say mid 70s to 80s now 66-73ish). Also you can see what the 30 inch bush gives you vs rooted clone.
