So my sister works over the summer in Alaska for the past couple summers. This year she recently returned raving about Matanuska Thunderfuck. She had brought me a small bud of the stuff and my god....it was delicious.
Anybody know anything about this strain? Or where I could get seeds for a decent price?

A Man lets call him Dave was stationed up in Alaska in mantanuska crabbing, There is very little to do there and no papers so the crabbers are known for having papers and booze.
Some other cat had a sack of Ruderilis weed that he traded for some papers and in this bag was just a few seeds. These were grown out and the best female cutting was tagged Tundra Fuck weed.

The cutting is Musty and slightly fruity very leafty and tends to pre bud.

Don't be so damned Gullible the dutch will stick a name on anything for gods sake they Have my Vortex Bud for sale at shops and not one has the genetic lineage correct.

Be wary of people that would name a cup winning strain after a US Movie release ( Peacemaker)

I had searched it quite a bit, and found several sites boasting to have this strain, at prices ranging from $90-$360 for a pack of 5.
One of the sights had Matanuska Tundra, and claimed it to be a mix of the original greenhouse white widow and pure haze.
So theres nowhere I could really find this stuff?

matunuska is a valley that is well inland, no crabbing going on there. So anyhow the strain was available by clone only, generally controlled by a tight nit group of grow houses, busted by state troopers pretty thuroughly in 1994 and 95, so supposedly whats out there now is just taking advantage of the name but not the true mtf. It was developed in matanuska, but predominantely grown in this groups houses in girdwood. I got busted with this strain in highschool rofl, anyhow it was delicious, i have no doubt that the modern adaptation is tasty stuff, some growers really know what they are doing up there.

The guy with the weed was from Mantanuska Not Dave I mistyped.
Dave and his friends still grow this ruderilis who knows if the story is true but considering Grows tons of weed and gives it away he has very little reason to boast to me. His hands are knarled from years on a boat so I know hes the real deal.
I smoked a similar tasting cut when I was up in canada and just so your not completely depressed its not that impressive compared to most of the medical strains available to day,

yeah it was pretty sweet back in 94 though. i wouldnt know by modern comparison, unless i had the chance to sample these days. Yeah they say crab fishing is the most dangerous job in the world.

its funny my buddy he isnt to familiar with most strains and all that good cannabis info but he is a old pothead he said the best smoke he ever smoked was Matanuska Thunderfuck.. i have not tried this strain though from what i hear it sound very yummy though some people seem like they talk this up...Thanks Subcool for the info on the strain too.. good shit

It's the Matanuska vally area north of Anchorage, aka where sara palin is from lol. They have a great outdoor growing season for a short 2 months in the summer with almost 24/0 sunlight. They have a amazingly large agricultural industry in the area. I was in the army up there in the mid 90's and got to try some MTF and it was quiet simply amazing. Buds that looked like they were just solid crystal hehe wonderful. Have yet to see it outside of alaska.
