i have been re-reading your canopy management 101 thread...in it you explain plant bondage and briefly talk about supercropping...my question is would you train your plants first to hold a spread canopy and take the restraints off then supercrop or supercrop first and let it heal itself then tie them back...btw...thanks for sharing so much great info in such detail

I hope nobody minds, I'd like to see W99illie's question anwsered, because it's such a good one. So, I'm going to bump this thread back up. Cause I'd like to know also, I've always grow outdoors and never tried to keep things quite this low / wide. I'd like to learn how.

I tie em up first but I never relax the tie downs this keeps the plant wide and open like antlers on a huge elk.
Super Cropping is performed as often as I have the chance once the previous application is healed nicely You want to continue to work the plant to form strong stems up until you start budding.

I haven't been tying mine..I just do the pinching and twisting. I should tie them though, cause it's a constant battle...the rain finally came this weekend, and did all my work for me! that was awful neighborly!-spreads 'em out really nice.

when you supercrop,after you bend the branch,does it lay at a 90 degree angle to the branch?little more or less?i just dont want to ruin a bud site by doing too much damage
i have the order form made out for bidzbay for some JC II and Astro boy...how do they respond to supercropping and how significant is the watermellon flavor in astro boy...thanks for your time here on this site bro...i appreciate it

you can bend them 'til they hang even lower, cause they will come back up unless you do something to stop them. that is precisely the aforementioned "battle" in my last post.

a short note on s.cropping: the main 'trick' is learning how to crack the cambium(inner skeleton),without breaking the vascular ring(sap vessels). pinching and twisting, or repeated bending to-and-fro(less stressfull), without snapping the damn thing, and cussing your brains out! it takes practice to know just how far to push 'em; but it's definitely an essential skill.

If this is to compliacted just smash the stem slightly between your fingers but again not so hard as to damage the outer part of the stalk.
