Converting a dresser in to a stealth grow box

I really want to start growing in a stealth box but a PC stealth is affordable but will not be any good the dresser pre made ones cost about 1,000 and im not prepared to spend that much money on a grow box.

I found this article http://www.hailmaryjane.com/build-a-stealth-grow-box-for-less-than-150/ but found it to basic and not very good for stoners because I don't want to mess up then have no dresser or no grow box

This is the dresser I plan to use

(I used the DVD case to show you roughly how big it is. the DVD case was the most universal thing I could find)

What sort of yeild could i get out of that?

P.S And if some one wants to help me make it over skype and help me make a shopping list i will give them some money for there time

I think this is a good idea! You could glue the fronts of the drawers in place and make a door instead, for example. You should design the inside requirements based on inside measurements, square cubic feet etc; for the grow light type and size, carbon filter, ventilation, hydroponic system and all that. You would probably want to line it with that shiny stuff called mylar, I think, but not until everything is planned and holes are cut for cords or ventilation fans. You can study the pre-made grow boxes quite thoroughly on the web to get ideas for your design. You are actually giving ME ideas! The dresser might be tall enough that you could put a shelf on the top or bottom for starting seedlings and cloning. Good luck!

Care to give me a hand and ill make it worth you while, I can see if it would be best if I get some help with some one who has experience?

Also after I would of cropped and dryed the buds what sort of yield would i be looking at you think?

I actually think that dresser would work really well. I am no expert, on my first grow in fact, but the old holders for the drawers along the side would work awesome for adjustable shelving up and down to get your plants near your light. Get some reflection going on the inside with some fans and lights and you will be on your way. This forum has been nice and really helpful for me. Go for it man!

Any flaws to the plan?

(the front will be a door that will swing out )

the 80mm fans will be on all the cornors of the box in the flower chamber

Hey man what type of lights are you going with? I would recommend going with at least 120mm fans, a good amount of them, and make sure they are all getting a full 12V power to each of them to run at full power. Better overkill than "underkill," right?

I like your plan and it could work nice, but with the flower chamber on bottom and veg/clone on top your limiting yourself ht wise and limiting potential yeild.I think you definately have to use cfl's for flower,a hps you wont have the height for,let alone controling the heat. The way you have it now you would have to flower when your plants were no more than 8 '' looks about 2' max ht on finished plants, then room for lights and reflector.Still the way you have it would work nice, with right ventilation and lighting .I would do 3 plants across under about 400 true watts of cfl,2 fans blowing moving air 1 exhaust (like 75 to 100 cfm will do nice ,line with mylar ,cfls and reflector on top and then some beaming plants from both sides, your set up. Average a zip an a half from them I would say. With out veg chamber on top ,you could let those babies get a foot taller and maybe use a 400 hps with cool tube ,yeild way more. looks good though ,could be good little stealth cab.

I don't know if i should have 2 chambers, im thinking of just doing 1 as it would be more easy, is it worth going to all the trouble for another chamber or not?

Personally would you do 2 chambers?

the advantage would be a sooner yeild 2nd time around. right now I have 7.85 ct feet to work with and my yeild looks to be about 30g. vegged on CFL&LED flowered on 150W HPS.It is my 1st grow so I am still just a noob but have learned a ton. As for 2 chambers i would if it was set up just right.

Im going to start working on a better blue print before i start then when i do start ill make a guide for other people to take ideas from

updated blue print, it gets a bit more complex in this one but let me know if this would work

is it worth having the first part of green chamber or not?

I would suggest you to use at least 150W HPS cool tube for flowering and you will get much bigger yield. And also make sure that veg and flowering compartments are lightproof. Otherwise your plan seems preety good.

--update--

I have done alot more research im going to make 1 chamber out of the dresser and make another one in to a veg chamber

On the flower chamber i plan to use a Powerplant Coolwing Reflector, But instead of using 2 sides for heat extraction one side will have a carbon filter mounted, the only question is do i use 250 or 150 hps?powerplant-coolwing-reflector-[2]-3981-p.jpg

(I plan to start the conversion around about 14th of april)

How's your dresser working out? I just bought a dresser similar in size, maybe a little smaller, and plan on doing the same thing. Your blue print really helped me out. I'm also considering just 1 chamber especially because mines a little smaller (31"h in grow space). Thanks for your detailed sketch! We should exchange notes since were starting about the same time. I already vegged my 4 plants about 3 weeks now and theyve outgrown their box so I bought a new one today. Good luck!
