Hard to believe these little ones are only three weeks old from germ. The nute burn seems to be fading rather quickly and at that, the extent of the burn was minimal. Oh well.... more filler and less killer in my next seedling soil batch.
The Purple Widow seeds are a disapointment.... only 3 out of 20 have germinated. But they were free. Was figuring since I do have all the gear to run DWC I might as well use it. So if I get these 3 PW seeds to take off I'll grow them in a coco/perlite/vermiculite mix in a root pouch "drain to waste" style and use up my synthetic nutes.

Looks like they're picing up steam now. Good job.

Yeah, I am going to have to raise my veg light when I bring them in tonight!!!! Pretty cool if I may say so myself. Yesterday the "leggier" plant was a full inch taller than my "squatier" plant. This morning they are neck in neck!!! I am waiting to repot until I see roots at the bottom of the starter container. But am getting antsy.... may get called back to work any time now and I know they won't go another full 2 weeks in their current containers. So they might be in root pouches by tonight.
I popped a pre-germed Purple Widow bean with a good taproot into a pre-soaked rockwool cube yesterday. Low and behold a 1" sprout was waiting for me this morning. So under the veg light it goes. My "mini humi dome" set up is pretty ghetto. Each cube in it's own little plastic party cup then the cup is in a sealed ziploc. Pre-soaking another cube right now in prep for the other germing bean showing a good taproot. Pics to come.....

They grow fast.... transplanted them into their permanent homes today. Hell, in another week or so I'll be performing dirty dirty bondage on them at this rate.

Busy day yesterday. Got the cabinet rewired and cleaned up. Moved the puck fans around. Move one to the roof of the cab for an additional exhaust to help out the 4" inline. Moved the other puck fan to blow from the lower chamber up into the flowering chamber. Left the T5's on all day and the max temp was 95. Not bad given the ambient temp in the garage was 90...
The pic of the seedling in the rockwool is the only 1 out of 20 Purple Widow seeds that sprouted... what a disappointment even if they were freebie seeds. I'm going to grow this one out in coco/perlite drain to waste style with GH nutes. I have them, might as well use them.
Now..... the 3 Snow White beans I soaked all cracked and produced good tap roots. Those are them in the pic on the wet paper towel. These will grow in soil. They are now in the blue party cups to sprout.

I think I managed to kill one.... damnit!!!! I am "mainlining" one plant so day before yesterday was topping time. It responded well to having 4 of it's 6 nodes lopped off. The other I am trying FIMing and super cropping. Well the one destined to be mailined is burnt to shit this evening. Normal this morning..... burnt leaf edges over say 45% of the leaves. The got a shot of fungal teal this morning.... but there shouldn't be enough nitrogen in a fungal tea to burn a plant that fast. Oh well..... live and learn. The FIMed plant look normal, got the same tea treatment.... no reaction so far. The solitary Purple Widow seed that made it is progressing. It's not in it's first application of Coco/vermiculite/perlite.
...... fuck I'm high

Time for a update..... for anyone who is tagging along.
The burnt plant dropped all of it's big leaves and I thought it was a goner for sure. But all of the burn was on the bigger leaves and other than looking heavily manicured, the plant looks to be bouncing back. I've move the plants to the floor of the cab to see if I can get them to stretch a little. They had been up on buckets to get them close to the light. I need the stretch in order to have branches long enough to train.... I guess a buttload of T5 light keeps em' squattie.
The plant destined for FIMing and Super Cropping looks like a little green beast. Healthy and super dense.... but short and compact. This isn't all bad since I am after all growing in a cabinet. The two established plants I have going from bagseed presumably came from the same plant. Definitely wild to see two distinct growth patterns from seed of the same mother. The "mainliner" seems to be doing all of it's growth from the tips. Even after being topped back to the 1st true node the new growth is exactly where it should be. Hormones redirected to the new main tips. And that's it. But on the green monster after I FIMed the plant responded by growing everywhere.... I'm still getting a handle on the vocabulary but all the potential mains growing at each node took off after I pinched out the main stem. Not just two where I FIMed.
The baby is the lone Purple Widow seed to make it..... shit seed and possible fungus issues. The beans in the cup are Blue Rhyder..... 7 Blue Rhyder beans. Going to be giving Rapid Rooter plugs a shot on 4 of them and rockwool. The ones going in the Rooters are destined for soil. The other 3 are going in Coco/perlite/vermiculite fed with GH nutes like the Purple Widow.
I'm not going to bother flipping the big ones to flower to see if they are male or female. I'll veg for a total of 10-12 weeks and then flip them and see what happens. Male of female they are both cannabis..... so I am learning as they grow. Gives me a chance to try training techniques, will give me a feel for how my version of "super soil" works with MJ and it'll give me a chance to try my hand at cloning. If they are both male... oh well. I'll save the pollen from the best grower and keep on keepin on until I get a batch of ladies.

Well plans do change....
Our indoor/outdoor assclown of a tom cat decided yesterday was a good day to ambush me while working in the cab. Knocked over my FIMed plant and broke the main stem between the 1st & 2nd node. I guess that was his way of saying "mainline this one too". But the upside is I got 6 nice clones off the broken top. And wish me luck but I do believe this is a female plant. Saw very distinct pistil-like looking hairs at the nodes. But won't know for certain till I flip it to 12/12.

Clones seem to be holding up. A little wilted..... but not shriveling up. 3 are destined for soil, 3 for coco/perlite/vermiculite. Not one of the Blue Rhyder seeds cracked. All turned to mush inside. I dropped some Bubblegun beans in H2O a couple days ago... 3 out of 5 cracked and are in rockwool. Tomorrow will be the 72 hour mark so I have hopes the other 2 will crack. Will probably run 3 in soil and 2 in my coco mix. Seems my hardest time so far is just getting the damned seeds sprouted. I can get most to crack but almost all of them don't produce sprouts. The seed just rots inside. Really pissing me off because I don't have this abysmal rate of success with any other plant....
