Same here...ended up spending money I didn't need to. And then I got high and accidentally threw away another PC fan I had bought for about 25 bucks from Radioshack.

I know what you mean! Already have plans for LST, just got some trellis netting yesterday. Had to chop the bagseed :(. There isn't going to be enough room in there to grow it, and it was real crappy smoke anyway. And also, going to scrap the pee project. It has been going pretty decently, but I don't think my diet is all that great and I want my babies to get good care...so I have some Fox Farm Big Grow in the mail. I'm going to put some new pics up tomorrow...I just transplanted the kush and skunk into their final homes so going to give them a little resting time to recover.

Yea it does have to do a lot with diet. They won't do too well on someone like me that has a more "predatory" diet.

lol yes exactly, I am a big time meat eater...and lately I've been on a fast food binge...I know, super unhealthy but every once in a while I get my cravings!

Hell yea...especially when you're high! lol!! Hey I read something really interesting today, involving using Nitrogen during flowering. It was something along the lines that it doesn't give your bud a bad taste and increases yield tremendously...and your leaves stay green for the duration of the grow, you might lose only a few. Have you heard about this???

Id like to read up on that too please. I have 2 things of nutes here. I have the MG 15-30-15 UltraBloom but I also have some Rapidgro 20-20-20. Ive only used the rapidgro 1 time in veg but didnt want to kill my first grow so I stopped. anyone else use these?

I wish I had more experience so I could give you a good answer on those...I'm going to hunt through that article I linked to you and see if I can find an answer for you...will need to know anyway once I get these girls into flowering.

This is from the post I linked to you...

Uncle Ben: "A plant flowers not because of the foods the labels and forum geeks says they should have, it flowers based on the health of the leaves. You're not feeding it anything, the plant is making its own food. Your sole purpose for using plant foods is to support plant processes, salt requirements. Support of leaf health is what's important, not forum paradigms, consensus', etc. I grew an outdoor sativa with high N foods all the way thru. Why? Because every time I used a blossom food (low N) the leaves would yellow, indicating that chlorophyll was being destroyed. Even though they were wispy buds, typical for a pure sativa geno, they were 10" across and very heavy....For me, a 9-3-6 and a 1-3-2 is all I need."

I also saw him mention that phosphorus is not needed so much in the flowering stage so that MG is overkill!

Looks like your bagseed is mostly indica:)<<my fav...Couchlock is in your future:)...

I started mine about 4 days before yours and this is the difference once you learn about nutrients and precise growing....
View attachment 2165326...Im 5 days into flower and already have mad pistils...here's a link to my grow which i have all details on my nutrients on there.

Not to mention you're not growing in soil lol. That makes a big difference as well. Looking good!

So there have been some changes since I last posted pics:

-I decided to throw out the bagseed. Its growth was finally starting to kick in and he/she was looking gorgeous, but my trellis netting for the SCROG came in the mail and I was forced to look at the long term future of the plants. There simply isn't enough room for 3 plants. Honestly, I probably would have been better off just growing one, but 3 is definitely too much. And I've said this many times, the smoke from that bag the seed came from was awful. I've read in several places that strain has everything to do with the way a bud smokes, the way it is grown won't significantly improve a poor quality plant. And also, I don't even know if it is male or female! What a pain in the ass to include it in the Scrog and find out it has to be cut out before it pollinates my feminized seeds!

-The Kush and Skunk were transplanted into a window box. Since a scrog grows the plant horizontal, this is an ideal way to increase room for roots while still saving space.

(Kush on the left, Skunk on the right)

-I had a red spider mite scare! Everyday, I spend some time just staring at my plants, observing the new growth and just enjoying their smell (these are some funky ladies already). Last week I was checking out their leaves when I noticed a couple small red spots on top of them. Come to find out they were a red spider mite. I crushed every single one I could find with my fingers and then looked online for a natural solution that was readily available to me. I am kind of broke right now so it wasn't an option to just go and buy some Neem Oil. I ended up making a solution with soapy water and non-antibacterial soap. I sprayed the leaves pretty thoroughly and then rinsed them off. Have checked them everyday and have not seen a red spider mite since! The downside is that you can see some discoloration on the old growth of the Kush from the soap. I don't know if this is because I sprayed them while they are under the light or what. Looking back I would have instead used an alcohol / water solution or tried to get my temps in the low 70s with high humidity (spider mites can't thrive in this type of environment) but I'd take a few old leaves with spots on them than a potential spider mite infestation any day.

Here is the Kush as she's looking today...she has small white resin spots all over her, the last pic is a close-up in the attempt to show you, although it doesn't do her justice. Also, if you lightly rub the leaves between your fingers, you can smell straight jungle funk!

The skunk didn't suffer the same leaf damage from the soapy water solution as the Kush did, and she also smells pretty great when you rub a leaf between your fingers, but not as pungent as the Kush.

Going over my grow, I've noticed that I haven't mentioned much on my temps or humidity so here is a pic (this is the typical environment in the box):

So overall I am very happy with these girls. They are growing much faster than the bagseed did. The soil is very moist because I made sure to give them a generous amount of water after transplanting them (Cervantes says that you can't over water transplanted plants and should give them a liberal amount). The next watering I am going to introduce them to Fox Farm Big Grow (scrapped the urine project, my diet has been pretty horrendous lately and these babies deserve proper nutrition). Also I introduced them to a 20/4 light cycle yesterday as I have been reading studies which show that 24 hour lights doesn't let the plants grow as fast or yield as much in the end as giving them rest does.

Oh and I thought I would put a picture up of the bagseed when it was the same age as these plants...can definitely notice a difference!! Guess it was a good idea to grow a shitty seed first so I would know what to correct when it came time to grow the good seeds.

By the way, BLACK GOLD SOIL IS SHIT. It doesn't have nutes for adequate plant growth for even a seedling, every time I add soil I find Gnats, and I've grown other plants in my home and have NEVER had a problem with spider mites until I used this soil :wall:. Next time I will be making my own organic mix where I won't need to add any nutes!! (Thanks to Dabumps for great info!! ;-))

I saw Uncle Ben mention a brand by Peters (can be found at Wal-Mart) that's supposed to be really good. But yea, you are probably better off with what you have compared to this bug infested crap. I really expected more from this soil!

I did get a few gnats in it but not to much. killed them pretty quick when I see them. No mites though... would be more worried if I had them.
