First time grower, experimenting with CFL and Sterilite Box

Hello So I did a lot of shit and was too lazy to post anything until now. I was going to last night but my neighbor convinced me to drink and we got smashed . I don't usually drink but peer pressure is a mutha. Anyway...

I decided to go ahead and flip to 12/12. I read in a lot of places that you should wait until the screen mostly fills and then start...but I think my conditions are a little bit different considering the space I'm working with. There isn't much screen to begin with and I know these plants are going to stretch like hell (I have a potty mouth when hungover) so I figured I would flip and see what happens.

I added some Y splitters and three 2700k 26watt lights. I would have liked to have one high wattage 2700k but am broke, so this is what we're going with.



Also, I attempted to take 2 clones of skunk and a clone of the kush. They are doing well so far. I'm keeping them in the seed starter setup I got from wal-mart for like 5 bucks. Hopefully I'll see some roots coming out the bottom in a week or two. The two skunk clones are grouped together and the kush clone is a space apart. (There is a plastic dome that covers them, but I took it off for the pic.) By the way, I didn't use any rooting gel at all. I have read from several people who have done it successfully without the added hormones...after all, what did people use back in the day when there wasn't any gel? I made sure to split the bottom of the stem about 1cm with the razor blade, and I also scrapped at the sides of the bottom to help stimulate roots. I sucked at the bottom of the stem (someone mentioned they do this to get any air bubbles out) and then immediately put them in the moistened seed starter medium.



It doesn't seem like FIMing the kush did anything except delay growth. Maybe I didn't do it right, maybe Kush doesn't take to Fimming. I don't know, whatever. I'll try it again some other day on some other plant. I ended up supercropping the stem a couple days ago. I probably should have waited a little bit after taking clones but I didn't want to super crop a ways into the flowering period. It doesn't seemed to have fazed the Kush...she was bent over for a day and then starting growing right back up to the light lol. Just looks like a little kink her stem. Again, maybe I didn't do it right, maybe she is just a beast and laughing at my attempts to train her...I don't know, whatever. It's been a week since I fimmed and this is what the site looks like:



I don't have any bloom nutes...pretty lame. I am thinking about using the urine method again for flowering as I have seen several grows that have successfully used it for vegetation and flowering. Haven't decided, but today used the FF while I do some research and decide. So here is what we are looking like...



You can tell that the plants are pushing up the screen in the middle...kinda hard to get that part tight. But I'm just waiting for the auxins to get long enough and I'll just zip tie them to the screen. So yea, feel free to comment, give advice, tell me how I'm messing shit up...

Haha yea I must have been using the term wrong, when I was saying auxins I meant the lower apical tips (lower bud sites, same thing right?). I guess it's a good thing that my lights are favoring the 6500k part of the spectrum since you say it might help reduce stretching. And yup, I know a scrog improves bud production from the lower branches, which is why I chose to go that route. Honestly, I think I could have grown vertical if I had flowered sooner, but when I started reading that scrog doubles bud production, knew had to go that route.
