my first grow: pc case x lst x bagseed

so i had a thread before and then the board time traveled, so i suppose i'll redo my thread. i won't repost all the pics, but just some of the highlights. it's week 5 from sprout, switched to 12/12 last sunday, so it's been a week in 12/12. no sex showing yet, but i'm thinking sometime this week. i lst'ed them and just retied some of the new growth to keep it from getting too tall. i'm not sure what i'm going to do if they're both female, as my plan was to only have one plant in there at a time and i'd have a lot more space for it..guess i'll just keep tying them down.

one of the things i've noticed is roots have come out of the bottom drainholes into the catch container. is this okay? i don't have any covering on the catch trays, but just these few roots won't effect the plant too much i hope. i'll get a pic up later when lights come back on.
















the last pics were a few weeks ago, i'll update with some new ones later tonight.

other info:

light: 18/6 for 4 weeks, currently on 12/12. three 23watt 6500k x one 23watt 2700k bulbs for veg, three 23watt 2700k x one 23watt 6500k bulbs for flower

water: RO water

soil: miracle grow african violet, pearlite & sphagnum peat moss (2:1:1 ratio), lime added to fix soil pH

took the pics late last night and was too tired to update. anyways, here's the newest pics. this is at exactly 5 weeks, 1 week into 12/12. the one plant looks like it's starting to show signs of sex, i think it might be male? on to the pics. they're looking pretty droopy cause it was time to water. and i forgot to take pics of the roots in the bottom of the catch tray.

there is some leaf damage from some of the fan leaves hitting the one exhaust fan on the case..

this place sure has dropped off since the 'data loss' eh? well, i'm gonna give that one plant one more day, but i'm 99% sure it's a male. however, the other one i saw my first white hairs! i'll take pictures tomorrow if i have time

i was hoping they'd both be female, but i'm actually glad it's just one..haha. space was TIGHT in there with the two..gives me more room for her to grow

the first signs of a lady.. white balance is wonky hence the very pale green

so how long into flower should i keep lst'ing? all of the other shoots are showing white hairs now and i'm thinking i'm just gonna let her go and not do any more lst, or only enough to contain her. there's also roots that have come out of the drain holes..is it okay for them to be just sitting in the catch pan? should i trim them? i'll have new pics up after the weekend

when the site was 'hacked' what was it, almost a month now ago? i had another thread with more pics/details, but it got lost since they could only restore from feb or whatever. i didn't have my camera for a week or so, but i'll post some pics tonight. looks a lot different now..

well, it's been a little while since i put up pics. i guess the last was the little snapshot of the first pistils. i'm now in week 7 since sprout, week 3 since 12/12 and day 10 since signs of pistils. i think she's lookin pretty good. hasn't started to smell yet (not exactly a bad thing) but holy crap is she getting hairy..haha.

i have no idea what strain she is, random bagseed. but i guess average flowering time is about 8 weeks? i know to go by the trichomes, but just trying to figure out the timeframe.

this is a pretty n00bish question, but are all of these circled areas going to be colas? the yellow one obviously being the main cola. the white one..i don't know if that's just gonna stay tiny/popcorn bud or keep growing up like the other spots. that cluster of 4 at the base of the main shoot, i don't know if those are just budsites that will merge with the main one or if they're growing separate. if all of them are, that's 13 colas, including the main cola??

i retied some of the side shoots and the main shoot to even out the canopy a bit tonight. i'll take some new pics in a few days. any thoughts on indica/sativa dominance? looking at her leaf shape, she almost looks like a near 50/50 hybrid...no idea of strain at all..just curious

Looks indica Dom a mice strain at that to man. Can't wait to see her later on when she's covered in tricomes

thanks, i obviously have no idea of the strain, but i'm pretty happy with it. i know some of the seeds i have are from some really good bud, but a majority of them were from some shitty mexican brick weed i got for free...i ordered a couple auto fem'ed seeds from attitude for when this one is done. it'll be nice growing some known genetics, hopefully i didn't get bunk seeds

i built the box out of an old pc i had. took almost a month-month and a half to get everything setup how i wanted to. it works, but space is definitely an issue. i wish i had more room, eventually i'll move up to a closet/tent grow, but for now, i'm just gonna keep rocking the pc case. for next grow i think i might switch out the fans for some of those scythe fans..these can keep temps down really well, but they're stupid loud at full throttle

How do you upload HD pics like that?

well the original images are gigantic, so i just resize them down to 800x600..i think it's the 'limit,' but it also uploads a lot faster and is still big enough. but to get the big images in the thread, instead of the thumbnails, when you're creating your post, double click on the picture once you put it into your post. it should open a window, and you can change the image size. default is thumbnail i think, but there's small, med, large

been a little while since i updated, so here's where i'm at...i'm in week 9 overall, week 5 since 12/12, and 22 days (week 3) since sex shown.

had some lower fan leaves yellowing, i've trimmed most all of them. i kind of started to panic, and i thought it might be a pH imbalance. but looking at the plant, everything else looks healthy, bud growth is coming along well and trichomes are really starting to form. so i'm just gonna keep watering. i had done a couple feedings with some miracle grow cactus food, but i'm just gonna stick with water now.

i know without knowing the strain, along with a lot of other factors, predicting harvest time is pretty difficult, but, i'm just trying to figure out a rough estimate of when i'll be chopping her down. if she takes 8 weeks since sign of sex to be mature, that'll put me chopping the week of may 20th? does that seem about right, or should i expect longer. i have no issue with time, just curious.

Sweet grow dude, looking really good. I would like to taste that bud when it fats up and comes off lol. I think you're gonna be shocked, I saw some stealth PC case vids online for harvest and his looked a lot like yours around this time, and by the time it was done was about the same size but a soda can sized bud on top!
