NIRVANA'S Royal Flush and Short Rider

I'd strongly advice u get a 150MH and veg with that if possible, using the CFL's as additional lighting where-ever, the plants will grow A LOT faster, with closer node spacing. You've already done well in upgrading ur box, upgrades should be done every grow in my opinion till you have something you cant improve on! Anyway man I'm officially sub'd for the journey, likin the basil plant too! I too had a next plant in my cab aside from the MJ plant, took it out today though, felt it was attracting insects!

Do You think That HPS will make no sense during veg period? It is actually really hard to find any kind of 6500k bulbs in our country. Looks like i will have to order from E-Bay or somewhere else.

I will start with bad news. Short rider seed has dried out. It did make a little root about 1 cm but then it dried and nothing came up! I got it out and then I saw this awful view. At last grow I over watered seedlings. Now I killed one not giving her enough water Ok. Next one is already in paper towel and will be in the pot as soon as seed will crack.
Now the good news. Royal Flush is good one and she likes my box. She came out in three days and now she is making already third leaves.

Basil is crazy! It has never had so much light and now the new leaves are really dark green. And it has gotten even bushier.

Basil told to other herbs that there is a very nice place in the closet and now there are already three of them. Basil grows as crazy. all new leaves are juicy and dark green. Light really means everything


And one more happy new - I got 150w MH light for free. Ok I borrowed it from my job But I need it only for 1,5 or 2 month If they will need I will bring back I just need to buy a 6500k bulb for it. Osram specifications says that the surface temp of bulb in nearly 400 C The bulb is locked in quite small space. How the light can work if there is no built in cooler. I am wondering how much it will raise temp in my tiny closet. Does someone has tried such thing? Any experience? Anyway there is pic of it. Hoping my babies will like it.


Now not so good news! Second Short Rider seed is not popping. It is in wet toilet paper in warm and dark place already for four days but nothing is happening. I did as google told me - took it out of freezer an let it in room temperature for couple days before germination. Then I put it in this wet toilet paper. Could it be that these seeds are bad? Because the first seed also didn't crack together with Royal Flush (RF cracked in two days and made 0,5 cm long root ). I just put first SR in soil uncracked and hoped that it will grow naturally but it made small root and dried out. What can be the longest time for seed to crack?

Shame about the dried up seedling but this is how we learn! Glad to hear another one's already in the making. House plants or garden plants i find love the artificial environment, they seem to grow a hell of a lot better than if u just put them by the window.

In relations to all ur lighting questions, in my opinion there's nothing wrong with vegging with CFL's, T5's ect if thats all you can get your hands on, however u will want a HPS for flowering, even if its only 150W. Good thing about that low wattage is it'll put out less heat than anything bigger. CFL's are actually very good for vegging. Try this MH light u've got, it could work i guess, well it should. If not, just try and put 1 or 2 CFL's there instead for veg, the more wattage the better, then use the HPS for flowering, and watch those temps!

Seeds can take up to 2 weeks to crack, but all mine have taken approx 2-4 days. A good seed should be nice and plump, not flat, and dark, if i see tiger strips on my seeds i always pick those first.

The second seed is doing bad. Finally it opened a lil' bit but there is no sign of root or something green like sprout. There is just dark inside. I've already lost hope to sprout seed #2. There is already the third one in game. I has some tiger stripes. Thumbs crossed for this one. May freezing cause the germination quality?

In relationship with lighting - I ordered 150W MH bulb today. Hopefully on Saturday there will be more cold daylight lummens for my babies. Only there lasts problem with temps. As I've heard MH is even hotter than HPS. I guess I will be forced to use my extra fan. I've gotten an old cooking hood with massive 92W fan. I've no idea how much air does it sucks, but this should work. They usually suck something like 500+ m3/h. It will take one long afternoon to combine it into my tiny cabinet.

This is an update in the day 16th of vegging. As you can read above, Short Rider has an attitude and it doesn't want to grow for me but Royal Flush is doing quite great. I've just transplanted it to bigger pot. Probably I will have to do some LST in this pot, but SROG I will do after she will go to final pot. There is one new roommate in there. My girlfriend's flower which was starting to die on the table in kitchen. I transplanted it to bigger pot and will let it to have some good time in here. Basil had to step away because it has been doing so well than it could be kept at the window for some time. Space in my closet is very valuable

This is actually my first time I know the strain what I am smoking. And ONYX is awesome. I will try to put some ONYX plants outside next spring. Auto flowers should do quite good even in our short summers. This is the strain I will smoke until shortrider will show some respect to me. But the best part comes when Royal Flush will be taken out of the jar

This is the 20th day of vegging! Yesterday I topped her at the 4th nod. Looks like it hasn't hurt her much. The fan leaves at the top were already raising up so i leaned them horizontally with some pieces of wire. I also switched on my HPS as I recieved a confirmation that MH will arrive only on Wednesday. Temps are already at 29 or 30



Short Rider #3 is in the soil but nothing is coming up yet. There are only two explanations for this. First one - I have crooked hands that are growing from wrong place. Second - I've gotten bad quality seeds. But as we all know Nirvana doesn't sell bad seeds, I guess the first one is correct.

Haha yeah man that basil is lovin life right now! Like the setup too plants are looking good so far. I keep a little aloe plant in my box and def likes it a lot more than the window sil. So none of the short riders grew at all? That sucks man, but if it was something you did at least you learned something! Subbed.

Shortrider #4 is cracking it's shell. I will try this time to start in bigger pot and put the glass on the seed spot for creating mini green house. Maybe this will keep the humidity more stable for sprouting out of soil.

It has been already two weeks from last update, but don' t worry I have taken some pictures all the way down. As I said Short Rider #3 died and now there is next candidate ready for quick plant grow. Keep your thumbs for #4 !

I am quite worried about Royal Flush. I have never did more research as in Nirvana comments for this strain because I believed them. Now I am looking on quite Indica leaves which is strange because they say it is "Predominantly Sativa". Could it be that this plant has more genes from his grandpa who was Jock Horror? Rather than Eldorado? There is one another web place http://nirvanaseeds.11il.com which sells Nirvana seeds an this one says it is Indica plant. WTF Where is the truth?
Anyway, this misinformation won't force me to pull it out. Let's see what will be in the end. Maybe it will turn out great strain finally. Good father has to have respect for every kid

OK. Enough complaining - let's see the two weeks job!
After I topped the plant it stopped for two days, and then it started to develop the side branches. I don't let them grow up with sticking wire hooks in soil for every branch. I know it isn't the best SCROG method but I don't want to put there screen as long as I will transplant her in final pot. As you can see this size is already #3 around 10L The 3L pot was already full with roots. I would like to plat her in 20-25L bucket finally. Then I will train her through the real screen.

I also removed some fan leaves because they were making shadow for new tops which are coming out everywhere from the horizontal branches.

She is now having 3 23W 6500k CFLs and 150W MH Looking good for me. I am not sure if my closet could handle larger amounts! There is so NOT ENOUGH space

One more interesting thing before pictures. When I transplanted from 3L pot to10L, I put some rabbit shit in the soil. I added some soil above the shit and then transplanted the plant. I don't know if the roots have reached the shit already but plant seems to be very comfortably in this pot. It grows fast and very nice dark green color. It raises trained heads up in couple hours. I like how this plant is growing

FCUK I am completely messed up. Jock Horror has Sativa leaves in Nirvana's pictures. Eldorado is pure Mexican sativa. Why then my Royal Flush which should be their baby has indica leaves?

I removed half of her fan leaves. Now her legs are opened and the sun shines in. Those tiny little future heads didn't receive enough light under those fan leaves. So I decided to free the way a little bit. I hit the bong afterwards not then when you all think I did And Bunny loves fresh salad in the middle of November

I don't know if someone is still following but I wanna share newest updates.

Plant was transplanted to 25L pot. Those roots were already to the bottom of 11L pot in 8 days after previous transplanting. Now I am sure that rabbit's shit is doing good work. I added half a liter of his chocolate balls this time as well.

I am planing to veg not longer than 60 days. So it is another three weeks until switching the light schedule. I don't think it is worth to fill all the screen because the light won't be strong enough to mature 20-30 colas. Maybe it's better to stick with some 10-15 tops with my 150W HPS and another 150w CFL+ tubes

Can someone answer to my question, please? Does MH makes anything good during flowering. Should I keep this MH helping HPS and CFLs?

P.S. Short Rider #4 is dead to my mind. I dag it out of soil and in 8 days it looks the same I put it in.The same half a millimeter root sprout and that's all. What's wrong with those seeds? I should have been taking early short rider buds already at this time, but now I have to visit my dealer and spend money! That is not correct! Hopefully I will order ONYX beans next week. These must work better.
