So I made it back safely. You wanna know how my trip was? I wrote a trip report Shroomery - Unconciousness and Death. My shroom trip was a little intense and I think that's because it was my first time and I took a little too much at once. Had I split my eighth and ate it over a 2 hour period. I probably would have been better off. I had a full on ego death and "near death experience" in my minds eye. Something I hadn't prepared myself for so it was scary.

Though Stoney, thank you very much for the tobacco offering ideas. I ended up buying my favorite cigars for everyone and passed them out before my buddy and I shroomed. Overall it was a great trip. And coincidentally, the place we were camping also holds a yearly desert rave! So our neighbors were a bunch of ravers! We just hung out with them all night and partied so it definitely renewed my spirits after my trip.

Yeah, trips can be intense introspective experiences.I think that's the point, lol.I just read your report. What an awesome trip.I looked it up, the lizard is considered sacred to some Native American tribes, like the ones in the southwest. All the bullets you saw, the words without meaning, the bugs swarming...I definitely think you may have made contact with the spirits of the place, and maybe they were trying to tell you something,to tell you of death and rebirth.....there's a definite message there.Next time you do it, why not try fasting for a day or two, with just water and clear broth, and take less because it will essentially be an empty stomach.Always make an offering when going to a sacred place.Make sure you leave a cigar for the lizard.

Dream Dictionary Lizard: Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Lizard

By Astrocenter Dream Dictionary

Lizard : Dream Interpretation Dictionary - Lizard

Lizard:
1. If you see a lizard among a group of people, then there is a false friend nearby who would betray you in a moment if it suited his or her ends.
2. In Native American mythology, the lizard is the dreamer. Dreaming of a lizard, therefore, is a sign that this dream is important and reveals a lot about where you're coming from, where you're going, and how best to get there. In order to get this information, look to the other symbols in the dream.

I <3 you Stoney! I just wanted to quickly reply and say thanks for all the information. Let me read through it real quickly and see how I feel the lizard and the bugs affected me.

Btw, the bugs I saw were mostly large black beatles, millipedes (the long bodies with the hundreds of legs) and maggots.

K let me read through these websites, I am very curious to interpret my trip.

So I read through the information you gave me. I really like what the Animal Totems website said about lizards. But it makes me wonder, was my trip trying to warn me that I needed to change something about my life?

"When lizard appears in a persons life it suggests the need for immediate change in one or more areas of their life. This change represents letting go of outdated ideas, actions, or lifestyles because the old now endangers you in some way."

I felt that during my trip I was told that I needed to stop doing drugs. Which is odd, because I don't really do all that much. I smoke a lot of pot, but everything else I do in very strict moderation. And if that was part of my message, I almost want to ignore it because I feel that I still have much to learn from the mushroom as long as it's given proper respect.

I did find an interesting dream interpretation of bugs on this website Dream Dictionary Insects.

It says about bugs:

"(1) If seen as mindless automata, insects may symbolize either (your attitude towards) your instinctive drives or unconscious forces that seem to constitute a threat to the rule of reason. In either case, you probably need to overcome - or at least examine - your repulsion.

(2) If it is a solitary insect, it may be bringing a message from your inner self. That your inner self should appear in such a paradoxical guise or employ such a dispicable and unlikely ambassador is a reflection of your (very unwise) contempt for your inner self, as shown perhaps in the way you exclude it from your conscious life. (Remember the cricket in Pinocchio's adventures?) "

I feel like this could be a pretty good explaination on why I kept seeing bugs. My guess is, as the shrooms started to peak, I was having a hard time connecting with what my friends were saying and it was bugging me (get it?) which was causing me to see bugs everywhere because I was annoyed. Or maybe it's something deeper than that:

"Bugs are insects which may symbolize either your attitudes toward your instinctive drives or unconscious forces that seem to constitute a threat to the rule of reason."

Thank you very much Stoney for the myraid of information and resources in my quest. I really like what I read about the Animal Totem for lizard. I think that animal fits me and makes sense in context of my vision.

But my question is, do you really think I contacted any elder Indian spirits? It makes you wonder if perhaps my trip had an ultimate goal or message like you were saying. It was an awesome feeling when I came out of my trance, I felt like an Indian shaman who had just come back to reality to deliver a message to his people. I really felt enlightened and relieved as I started to come down.

See!You got it exactly. You always have a mental block to overcome.I think, in your case, you were hiding something from yourself.Maybe like something you didn't wanna know. And that's why the swarms of insects. The other message was, to teach you reverence for the place you were in, and the sacred mushrooms.Maybe you thought, this will be fun, and they scared you a little to teach you, yeah, it's fun,but the true meaning of doing shrooms is deeper than that. You touched god, i think...in whatever definition there is of him or her.Your trip really has a lot to say.Think about it, because only you know what it means.
