Default Self Actualized ???
Maslow writes the following of self-actualizing people:
  • They embrace the facts and realities of the world (including themselves) rather than denying or avoiding them.
  • They are spontaneous in their ideas and actions.
  • They are creative.
  • They are interested in solving problems; this often includes the problems of others. Solving these problems is often a key focus in their lives.
  • They feel a closeness to other people, and generally appreciate life.
  • They have a system of morality that is fully internalized and independent of external authority.
  • They have discernment and are able to view all things in an objective manner.

I think I might fit into that catergory myself. The part about morality would probably fit many grower personas in my opinion.

More of my thoughts? I feel I could right you a story on this subject & the relation it has on my thoughts, but your such an intelligent balanced person(I can tell from your posts & threads) that I would feel as though I'm babbling. I will elaborate on any one of the particular points if you'd like & I will say this - The system of morality that is fully internalized & independent of external authority is a huge influence in the mind of a grower because even though it's illegal we still do it - Why? - we are simply operating under the guidelines of this system you speak of. Did that make sense?

So, these are concepts of the "self-actualized" person, but with nary a definition. Semantics being what they are, do we have one to start from?

How do you think these aspects of the "self-actualized" personality might fit into the concepts of quality and value?

Hi Maiden,

I can only guess...

BUT this would be my guess..

there is an ULTIMATE morality. and ultimate code to the highest quality of life.. the "HIGHEST" way of living.. highest way of existing..

and that way...
is to recognize that each person has there OWN moral ladder that they climb to get to this ULTIMATE point....(although it is not really a point)..

and one of the aspects of this ultimate morality is to never judge another man's path... to never HOLD one's own "values" or "morals" against another man's... this is the highest form of morality... this is also the only "place" of "sincerity"

This also transcends the MIND.. since the mind can only see the world as "relative (tall short, big small, good bad)

and to exist without comparing using the mind as the main navigator)is to have shifted ONE's awareness (one's true self) away from the mind, into eternity..

and if this does not "make sense" to the reader, it is because the reader believes he is the mind.. or has lost touch with her true identity, true essence,, and has got lost in the temporal maze of the mind...

This can be easily proven or witnessed by any living being.. by simple staying STILL.. and not reacting to anything... upon practicing this exercise.. awareness of SELF will show ITSELF... if one can sustain this positions... this shift..

one will become one of less that 1000 who walk the earth.. LOL ... iloveyou

ahahha - "

and one will say things like...."and they say that's a tree!!!"

does this help?

Hopefully, this address the"quality and value" elements of being self actualized...
