What is it?

It depends on the situation and the results you want. Lets say you're taking a multiple choice test. You can choose A. B. or C... Those are your choices if you want a chance at passing. Now if passing isn't part of the results you want, your other choices may be to burn the test, to use the test as toilet paper, or maybe even make a paper plane out of it. Depends on what you want.

Another example is getting back with a previously seperated ex. You got a few choices at getting back with him/her if you choose the right choice out of the limited amount of choices. Saying there's infinte amount of choices for the results you're looking for wouldn't make sense. That would mean you can throw a cat on the floor and boom you got the girl.. Doesn't make sense..
