Does Self Exist? What is the proof?

Here's a list of articles and such. It's pretty compelling stuff. And again I see what we touch on here can be easily found that greater minds than ours are already in there. I had only read one little thing before about micro-tubriles being discovered in the brain. For what possible purpose are stacks and stacks of K+ ions carefully isolated and maintained in tubes? It was thought that perhaps they acted like a set of Qbits, to do the actual, enormous, processing of cognition. THere are some interesting communication and infomation implications, as well.

I think we are like computers basically as well, I hope Im not changing the subject too much but if youve ever seen promethius yet, in the beggining this man eats this liquid stuff which basically deteriorates his whole body, his leg collapses into decomposing black shit and he falls apart.

Now about a month or two ago I had a near death experience. If youve ever had one you have your own interpretative view of it. It showed me that we are corrodable.. I mean I knew that before, but like... Jesus, okay so I overdosed on this stuff called 25c nBOME because I smoked a lot of synthetic on it and had this like.. Im not entirely sure it was a seizure but it was something. It felt like there was plastic inside of my skull and it kept popping up at random places, gradually getting bigger. It didnt hurt, but it felt like I was a tree, and someone was chopping me down. I knew I was dead. But I was okay with it. The sky showed me its true colors it was the most beautiful sight I have ever seen. I felt as if I was getting pulled into this giant fractal absent hole of the giant lotus type thing that was surrounding me, it was a light at the end of a tunnel kind of thing. During this I had NO idea what was going on around me, where I was... I didnt care, I felt like I was finally being freed. The further I went the better I felt.

Now I dont know how it happened but I slowly regained consciousness over the course of the next 30 minutes.. The phenomenon lasted all night, until the next morning.

It showed me that death is nothing to be afraid of. It showed me the actual importance behind epicurian quote of 'need not fear death for life is existence and death is the end of our existence. There for irrelevant to our existing selves' Thats not the exact quote butttt... Anyways I would have been completely okay with dying right there. And I realized thatthe saying of 'we all go to the same place' is true because of this. If one is to die, they will experience this universal experience. Therefor going to the same 'place' whether or not the place is the same as someone elses. They will know that you too, went out happily.

Just caught one of those sci shows, Through the Wormhole. The universe is alive. by any definition, sort of, using a city as an analogy. OK. Various large and small living organisms. OK. But, then they were talking about dis-local quantum computing and this idea of self awareness of all the particles in the universe of themselves. The remote effects. OK.

But, then they went on to suggest that it is also intelligent and on and on....I got lost. I'll have to watch it again. But, I remember they were linking our quantum minds and observation, etc.

Quantom mechanics is strange, I need to do more reading on it. Care to explain the whole thing behind quantom particles moving only when being observed? They simply pop into existence? How does this work exactly?

Get a playing card and cut two holes next to each other, slits if you like. It's called the Double Hole experiment. Shine a flashlight through the playing card, onto a wall. Two holes outlined in the light? No. The light fans out and makes a row of holes. Not two.

Why is that? So, a bit of reading up. It gets somewhat technical. It is just that when you try to observe at the particle level, you want to see how a photon can be in two places at once, but suddenly they are not. It is because the experiment is not just upset with the use of detectors, the result will be photons going though two holes only. Weird. And if they look back through the the holes it looks like the somehow the particle knows before hand, that the experiment came live. Information pasted back in time. Location can't be pinned down.

That is a very over simplified explanation, but the experiment is famous the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle. It means we cannot truly understand what is an atom, for example. It may just be a dense vibration, somehow.
