Staying In Your Own Business

I can find only three kinds of business in the
universe: mine, yours and God's. (For me, God means
"reality". Reality is God, because it rules. Anything
that is out of my control, your control and everyone
elses's control, I call that God's business).

Much of our stress comes from, mentally living out of
our own business. When I think, "you need to get a
job, I want you to be happy, you should be on time,
you need to take better care of yourself," I am in
your business.
When I am worried about earthquakes, floods, war, or
when i will die, i am in God's business. If i am
mentally in your business or in Gods business, the
effect is separation. I noticed this early in 1986.
When i mentally went into my mom's business, for
example, with a thought llike, My mother should
understand me," I IMMEDIATELY experienced a feeling of
loneliness. And I realized that every time in my life
that i had felt hurt or lonely i had been in someone
else's business.

If you are living your life and i am mentally living
your life, who is there living mine? we are both over
there. Being mentally in your business keeps me from
being present in my own. i am separate from myself,
wondering why my life doesnt work.....

Even in the name of love, to think we know what is
best for another, is pure arrogance, and the result is
tension, anxiety and fear. do i know what is right for
me? that is my only business....

if you understand the three kinds of business enuf to
stay in your own business, it could FREE your life in
a way that you cant even imagine. the next time your
feeling stress or discomfort, ask yourself whose
business you are in mentally and you may burst out
laughing!! That question can bring you back to
yourself , and you may come to see that you've never
been present, that you've been mentally living in
other peoples business all your life.
And if you practice it for a while, you may come to
see that you dont have any business either and that
your life runs perfectly well on its own,....

Oh thank you GK This is something that is EASILY applied if someone is inclined to do so. I know it clicks for me and I will try it. The only area I might have some problem doing it is with my kids..... I see my job as a parent as a guide or steward really. So I have to make thier business my business at least enough to piont them in the right direction right?

you should write a book

Great idea and it works if youre not raising kids, if youre not married or in a serious relationship and if someone else isnt causing you problems.

single people can live by that theory very easily and if they arent single they will be quite often because when youre in a 'serious' relationship sometimes you have to get up in the other persons business in order to emotionally survive yourself.

If youre raising kids you have to get all up into their business in order to prevent them from hurting themselves others and god knows what else especially at a young age.

If your boss is making decisions that are consistently screwing up your days and nights you have to get up in his/her business too unless you want to be looking for another job every 5 months.

my philosophy is this - KNOW WHEN and WHEN NOT TO GET UP IN SOMEONES BUSINESS

if you know the proper and inproper times to get up into somebodies business (for your own sake and the sake of those you love) youre doing fine. In other words choose your battles wisely and for the right reasons.

i find when i am most stressed or uncomfortable is when others are in my business rather than vice versa. Or someone is trying to drag me into their or someone else's business.

but nothing is worse than someone giving you the business.
