the god myth is all of our hopes and fears condensed into an idea that is easily digested by the masses. somewhere along the line god became the anthropomorphized realization that there is soooo much we will never understand. "

there is so much we will never understand. too true. the problem with most religions is they have been influenced by mankind, always wanting his own cut, his ideas to be introduced saying "this is gods will" when it is really the flesh taking control.

someday there is going to be peace on earth again and all of the universes mysterties will be explained by the creator. that is why i dont need to understand. it will all be explained

Why bother with someone else's definition of everything that is you?
Stoke some original thought and keep the miscommunication to a minimum.

god is truth
this truth we can never truly understand

but striving to live and understand this truth makes you grow spiritually as a person. this expansion is achieved through the extension of oneself... which is love.

I came to this conclusion after reading The Road Less Traveled by scott peck.
Gandhi can also be viewed as this type of thinker.

It makes me scared, and uncertain, but happy deep down at the same time, because I know if I keep trying maybe I'll be able to grow. Who knows where this growth will take a person?

I'm only in the very early stages, my view of truth is small, twisted, and inaccurate. But I have faith for something...

EDIT: and at any time a person's views who chooses this path may change, which can make him seem hypocritical or contradictory, but you should always know this person from their love. Love meaning how much they extend themselves wanting nothing more then the feeling of spiritual growth.

can you define what does not exist? the god myth is an idea created by fear and, as such, it is something we have little use for. god as the creator is for those who have an unfulfilled need to be watched over by some benevolent parent, we have no such need. god the omnipotent ideal is for those who crave the guidance of a stern parent, we refuse to allow ourselves to be so easily controlled. god as an idea is dangerous, god as a coherent force is improbable, god as a being is laughable. the ultimate questions cannot be answered; get used to it, get over it, and get on with your life.

to deny the existence of deities is to deny dogma the ability to control your life. without the rules man has created in the name of the gods, we are free to be guided by our own rules and to once again revere all.

it has taken us the better part of the last half-century to come to this much of our understanding. it is constantly evolving as we gain knowledge and will constantly change until we are laid to rest. anything else would be stagnation and that is best left to those trapped within the god myth.

we cannot be other than we are. the life we have lived has made us what we are and what we are contains this understanding. you might just as well ask what would a chicken be if it weren't a chicken.

god is anything that we cannot explain rationally. Just think about it when something out of the ordinary happens and you have no explaination for the occurance what do we use to explain it? god.

god is a form of crowd control. what better way to keep the masses under control than to position a diety that defines perfection, so that people have an image to conform too. all god really is, is the voice inside of your head telling you right from wrong. imo
