We've been through alot, Christianity and I. I used to be extremely militant with my atheism. I'm still a diehard Nietzschean, and I consider the Church of Satan one of the few sane religious institutions in the good ol' U.S. of A. But, I've come to accept what I perceive as the evils of Christianity as something so universal and implicit, it doesn't need me criticizing it to make it so. I know alot of good people, and many of them are Christians. Just as with any other belief system, adherents run the spectrum of good and bad; and just because someone identifies as a Christian, it says absolutely nothing about that person other than that they atleast have a small degree of knowledge of the man called Jesus. The religion itself can be the instigator of anything from humanitarian aid in third-world countries to world-wide prosecution. Jesus said alot of good things, and Christianity in general has done good things. And at the same time, from Paul of Tarsus to Fred Phelps to that Mr. Holier-than-thou that everybody knows, it can be warped to promote intolerance and stupidity.
Besides, I live in the bible belt of Texas. Churches are like my starbucks. I've become accustomed to seeing one everytime I turn my head.
