There is a lot of interesting science behind this. There is an inventer that was featured on the Discovery Channel who's biological clock went back two years as his atomic clock (regular time, special clock; most accurate scientific way to keep time) showed a year had passed as a result of a combination of vitamins he was taking. There is also evidence that people who eat less actually age slower because there is a survival hormone released that makes mitosis (cell reproduction) occur at a much slower rate. I don't believe in evolution, but I do believe humans are getting closer to being able to alter ourselves however we want. I personally believe Jesus will come back before we get too far in our technology though. It is still interesting to think about the science. Here is the first video of ten of that Discovery Channel documetary I mentioned. Watch them all if you have time, there are some crazy people in it. A guy who is immune to cold weather, a blind painter, a woman who sees sound, a non-autistic human calculator, and the man who wants to live forever.

I simply call what the article describes adaption. I am on the same page as you. I am a physics major though, so I just really love almost anything scientific. I actually barely watch T.V. these days.

It is really not rocket science.

By virtue of not eating as much they are not ingesting as much carcinogins, pesticides, preservatives, processed foods as a normal person. That alone will make you live longer.

What I was talking about has nothing to do with carcinogens, pesticides, etc. I was referring to the release of polyphenols similar to Resveratrol found in red wine due to an increased metabolic rate when fewer calories are consumed. The result of this is a deaccelerated rate of mitosis, thus slower aging.

I agree with what you are saying, but what I was talking about has nothing to do with carcinogens, pesticides, etc. I was referring to the release of polyphenols at the cellular level similar to Resveratrol found in red wine due to an increased metabolic rate when fewer calories are consumed. The result of this is a deaccelerated rate of mitosis, thus slower aging.

LOL - I missed this..

NO! I was at a nursing home a few weeks ago. When I walked out I told my wife that I never want to be old and I hope to check out before I get like that.
