I come from a stong backround in Christianity (Baptist and Lutheran) and my mother was a practising hindu. From childhood i found that God was either vengeful and fearful, as well as forgiving and loving... mixed messages? i think so.. anyways I have started my own religion called Budhramism because i believe in the merger of the great faiths for an understanding of god. I also believe that our souls belong to him and so we cannot sell them to the ... although our bodies are powered by our minds and our minds are powered by our souls.
Tell me what you think of your soul... if it belongs to you or if its been leased by the eternal dealership of Heaven....

Our souls are made up of our mind, will, and emotions. As a practicing born again Christian I can attest to how our souls get in the way of our physical beings. Each time you see something you want is a physical need or something to satisfy our soul. Most things are about our soul. While some would say that getting laid is a physical thing yet how many of us guys thrive on the hunt as much as we thrive on the sex. Its our souls that drives to us and our physical bodies bring logic to the game. That is really true as you get older. I am 49 and while I love going to Lake havasu during spring break, I know that my physical body could never keep up, but o my soul just loves the view.

I am comfortable without all the mysticism that religion brings. There is enough beauty in the natural world that I don't feel the need to reach for something that is outside the realm of nature. Life is brief and fleeting in the cosmic terms of things. Enjoy the here and now (with a nice bowl of course)
