I am interested in running a 400 in under 1 minute.. has anybody on the site achieved that?

running a 400 in under a minute = sprinting the whole time. You have to be pretty athletic, as well as in decent shape.

i used to run cross country, some years back ( 5k ) all i remember my coaches saying is to keep your hands open to increase blood flow or something like that, also a good start off the starting block can save a second or 2

you should train for a week b4 so you wont be gased out but wat do you run it innow if you dont mind wats your weight build height??

5' 5" - 155lbs

my first 400 is usually 1:10 to 1:13

2 minute break

second 400 is 1:20 - 1:25

the I take another 2 minutes

3rd 400 is 1:25 - 1:30

then another 2 minute rest

4th - 400 is 1:25 - 1:31


4x400

it is a killer..

i think I have a 1:08 in me..


I don't use blocks.. just go to the local track and hold the timer in my hand and run...

well your not over wieght so thats good do you eat right???Make sure you sleep good 2 nights b4.My old football coach always said on friday night you play on wensdays sleep and to work out do calf raises and do 40 yrd dashes too hope this helps

I am pretty freaky strong and explosive in all areas of fitness.. and have great metabolic conditioning... but I really neglected explosive running...

Sleep is something i need to work on... I do lots of late nigt editing..

and yes. I am working on my 100 and 200 yard sprints hoping it will translate into better 400 yard times...
