My scale = 1 = ditch weed that gives you a headache. 5 = regular herb..gets you stoned...but not very and no smell, bland or harsh taste. 10 = dankest shiite ever.

Strain: Nirvana AK48 regular sex

Growth: Explosive growth in first three weeks of flower. Triples size.

Nutes: VEG: blood meal and molasses. FLOWER: mg 15 - 30 - 15 and molasses. Flushed for 10 days.

Yield: 1.5 oz. mid/heads/colas. CFL grow.

Bag Appeal: 7. No seeds, all bud.

Smell: 6 in bag...8 in jar. In jar smells amazing...after a day or two in a bag...smell is much weaker.

Taste: 7. Sandalwood. Lightly sweet. Nothing you LOVE...but pleasant.

The High: 8.5. Energetic high with mild body stone that fades after an hour to a more sedated body stone. I like the 2fer stone! Lasts a good 1.5 - 2 hours...only need a few pipe hits. (or I suppose you could do one binger...it'd be strong...)

Comments: Overall a good bang for the buck grow. Plant is a pig for nutrients, water...you name it...the AK48 likes a lot of it. Hardy. Buds are dense. Tops well.

I have another ak48 just 2 weeks into flower. I got the botanicare sweet grape in the mail and will use that instead of molasses...and later on down the road will report in this same thread.

I am really curious as to how much a grower can affect taste vs genetics.

I harvested the one in this report gradually starting at day 50 - end on day 56.

I will harvest the next one starting on day 55 - end on day 61.

Like I said curious as to how much effect a grower/harvesting time/nutes have on the plant.

So far the newer ak48 is growing similarly but instead of a pretty even 4 cola (I topped) it's showing two dominant colas and 2 secondary colas. Also is going to end up a bit taller than the harvested one. I'm feeding this one even heavier than the harvested one...still no nute burn. Hopeing to increase yield to 2 oz as a result of heavier feedings and letting it ripen an extra week.

Thanks for the report, I ordered some AK-48 and am curious to how it grew. How tall\old did you veg for? It looks like a small plant, prob sould have yielded more IMO.

Vegged it for 6 weeks.

A little over 2.5' tall in flower. Pretty tight/close nodes. The one growing now will get to 3' np is my guess.

I was a little light on the nutrients...I can see that now as I am going much heavier on the ak48 in flower now and she's taking it like a porn star.

As to yield...lots of factors...lighting, nutrients, and how long you let it flower are the three biggies.

Oh, you used CFLs, I missed that. Yeah not bad, not bad at all. Sounds like the other one is doing even better. That was your first time growing it, right?, always do better the next time around.

You said you went lite on the nutes, what brand did you give them? 15-30-15 still or would you change? I read that some-one used 20-20-20 and was doing well, or would you increase dosage per gallon?

You said it "tops well", how many main colas did you end up with?

I will be using dual spectrum floro's+ 400wt MH for veg, and 2000HPS+500MH to flower. I'm hoping for a head start to reap some real dank buds.

1st AK48 grow. I had just finished a semi-successful bagseed grow prior. I'm putting my goal of 2 oz a plant with cfls on the one in flower now because...well I think that I can get it!

Four colas the first time that were roughly even in height. The one that is now on day 15 flower has two dominant colas and 2 secondary colas in the same four main branch formation as the first. As to heads well of course there were/are tons of heads on both plants.

As to heavier nutes...using sweet grape instead of molasses and just going slightly heavier and a bit more frequent with the same mg 15 - 30 -15 nutes.
