Strain: Satori by Mandala seeds

Growth: Promix BX. Vegged in 6" pot, flowered in 10". This particular plant was flowered under a poorly placed 70w HPS and about 100w of cfl.

Nutes: espoma plant tone, BMO FP, dolomite lime, BMO high P bat guano

Yield: Roughly an oz. This plant was a stretchy 2' lollipop when flowered. It grew out so much during the first couple weeks of 12/12 that it ended with more of a xmas tree shape. With better lighting, and a plant that hadn't had so many clones taken immediately before flowering I think the yield would be MUCH better. I'll be getting a 400w hps soon. I think I could easily double, and possibly triple my yield with that.

Bag Appeal: 6/10 Just by looking at it, you wouldn't expect it to be anything exceptional. My buddy sees a slight purple tint to the finished buds, but I don't really see it.

Smell: 9/10 I can't even begin to describe the smell. It seems like everytime I touch a bud it smells a little bit different. There is an underlying floral odor to it. The smell isn't especially strong, just very pleasant. I find it hard not to sniff my fingers after handling the buds.

Taste: 9/10 Maybe even harder to describe than the smell. The smoke has a sweetness to it, but there is so much more there. Very little harshness, I rarely cough unless I am near the bottom of the bowl.

The High: 9/10 Clear headed and mildly euphoric. Minimal effect on appetite. Conversation really flows well with some satori. Great for taking a walk in the woods. I find a single bowl keeps me pretty high for about 3 hours. It gradually fades out after another 3 hours or so, with no hard "crash" like some weed can do. I find I can stay pretty functional while high, as long as I can stay on task. It is very easy to get sidetracked by virtually anything, because everything is so much more interesting. You ever see the back of a $20 bill...on weed? That reminds me, I haven't seen half baked in a while.

Comments: I love this weed. Easy as hell to grow, once the seeds get going they really take off. Very easy to clone as well. I am 2/2 with females so far, with a 3rd that has not been sexed yet. I believe this is the sativa dom pheno. It also had the biggest fan leaves I have ever seen. I have another one that looks more indica that is around the fifth week of flowering. I will update if that one smokes any different.

The samples I have smoked so far were cut at around the 9 week mark, with >85% milky trichs, the rest clear. They were in a jar 2-5 days, so they were not really cured. I expect it to improve with a proper cure. I took down the rest of the plant @ 69 days, I have not yet smoked any of that or looked at it under the loupe.

hey howard, Glad you still love it mine are starting to get that smell you mentioned. 2 are doing great. the third I think I may have over nuted just with the soil mix and a worm casting molasses tea!. These plants really don't need anything but water for a while. I just wanted to activate the soil. oh well the other two were in an older soil mix that had already been "cooking" they are really fast growing, beautiful plants. They are really stretching their leaves up to the light, very vigorous despite HOT temps here in Tejas

Quick update.

After a few weeks curing the flavor has mellowed a little. It's not as overwhelmingly sweet as it was before. It still tastes great, but the taste and smell are just too complex for me to adequately put into words. It's kind of floral, with a hint of something else...maybe pineapple? I also sampled my other, more indica pheno. Very little difference in the high, but not quite as tasty. Still very good, just not quite as pronounced as my sativa pheno.

Ceiling 9/10? I still have not found it yet, but I didn't have enough this harvest to really find out. I can tell you that a .6g joint left me unfit to drive.

Tolerance 10/10 I am normally very quick to build a tolerance to most strains, usually within days. After a month I still get just as high off a bowl as I did the first time.

I really have nothing at all bad to say about this strain. I've smoked a lot of $50 an 1/8 weed in my life(strain was usually unknown), and this is more potent than virtually everything I used to get. I really want to try one of subcools jack strains just to see how much of a difference in potency there is. +rep for anyone who has smoked satori and can compare it to either kali mist, or subcools gear.

thanks howard. I do have word on mine. All three are doing well...they all responded differently to topping. One of them formed 3 instead of two terminal shoots. One is a real mutant and and it is hard to even describe it...it's like the leaves are canted backwards and they interfere with each other big time...this one looks the most indica and i hope it can sort itself out. The third one is forming two terminal shoots. The 3 shoot one smells of turpentine, the other two to a lesser extent. I'll probably take clones from the 3 shooter in a week or two. No sign of sex yet.

I can't wait!

How old are they now? Any significant difference in height?

I seem to remember you have several other strains going, so I'm hoping you put up a smoke report around harvest time.

How big was she when you switched the lights?

just a little clone i rooted in a rapid rooter, as soon as she was rooted i put her in soil for about a week, week and a half when she started to grow again i put her in the cab. there is another clone off the same mom about a week behind her. I also put a clone from the other satori i still have and should know in a couple of days if it's a he or a she.

Does it look like you have more than one pheno? I noticed my more indica leaning pheno to be MUCH stinkier, but in a good way.

Not a whole lot of difference in the smoke though.

grew satori last grow had bud clusters big as my thigh leg! huge pistols so many trichs looked like dew. your review is perfect must have same pheno, got mine from clone great yield about 350grms per plant cured was my av. Mr Noob me had to grow new and fun strains this time. she is welcome back in my garden anytime
