Been trying to log in since yesterday morning and can't get on. Anybody know what's happening with it? Is it me or is it down or whatever?

Yup basically their website was allowing anyone via a google search to look up names/addresses of every order they had ever sent out so they have closed it down while they get it sorted so you may wanna look elsewhere to spend your money for the time being

Shit, that don't sound good. Don't think I'll ever use them again after reading that! Wtf, allowing personal details and addresses to be read by anybody!? How could they do that, and how will they expect to be trusted again!

All I can say is that they better have some nice freebies/promotions for the next few months, once more and more people learn about this, it will be bad. Security issues are bad enough but when the names and addresses of clients who might now be potentially growing plants are let loose for the whole world to see...well, this is much worse than some hacker getting your credit card info.

Does the DEA have hackers? What outfit or who else wants to know the details of those who are purchasing marijuana seeds?

Glad I never used them. Maybe the mods of this site shouldn't have them as a recommended seed bank anymore until they get this sorted out. I guess I will just stick with the tude.

They are a paid sponsor/advertiser on this site...as long as they pay they stay...it is quite obvious that this place does not give a fuck about your security,,,if you do not believe it try to delete photos you posted, posts you made or even your account

Hope they don't spread your info. Good luck

Its wierd how much you learn when you help build a website from scratch. i.e Sos staff didnt really know a thing about how a website works dont get me wrong we knew how to add content and proccess orders etc... but i mean the structure of the site how its built how the security works integration of plugins, servers and so on.... the company who built the old site basically just gave us the site and said happy selling maybe its a bit naive but when you buy a secure website you would think thats what your getting well obviously not and now that company is paying the price, But in short the site is secured using 256 bit encryption so im sure that wont happen again.

I understand it is a bad situation and I hate that it occurred. It there is nothing you can now say or do that will return trust to me of this operation. My "spidey" senses were tingling just from the timing of SOS's appearance during the turmoil going on here at riu. This is very serious business that could cost one's freedom. And if it occurred before there is no way anyone could be made to believe it will never happen again. Sure it may have costed you $ dearly. But that is nothing compared to what people stand to lose due to your mistake. Glad so glad I followed my gut feeling and avoided SOS. I will stick to that and I pray that everyone else does as well. Sorry but yes IMO your organization should look into doing something else and not this which can put people's lives literally in danger because you cannot hold up your end of security. Anyone with half a brain should see thus as well. Again apologies but IMO SOS should close and fade Into memory.

Wow thats deep if you think like you shouldnt be buying seeds period online with any bank! i only say that because the problem sos had could happen to any website out their it only takes some stupid idiot working for these web building companies to over look certain things and wolla you have massive problem which we unfortunately experienced, yes we lost thousands while the site was down but it was our choice to shut the site we could of kept it open and just fix the problem but we put the customers first, im not for one minute trying to win you over by any means or anyone else i have done what any respectable human would do and let everyone know what is happening and give updates every step of the way, This site is as secure as any other if not more as we do not share the server with any other website so there is less risk than with sharing with hundreds of websites but anyway enough of me going on lol

You're an idiot. So, you avoid everything sony? How about Wal-mart? Visa, Mastercard? I am on identity protection because Vudu, owned by walmart had it's buildings broken into and hard drives stolen. Barnes and Noble, also TJ Maxx and Marshalls, 46 million customers info leaked. If you think this SoS incident was a big deal, maybe you should watch the news more. Maybe you should take a look into doing something else, because by opening your mouth, you only make you look stupid.

really the biggest security risk that happened was right here on this site. its much like the stealth shipping you get people here that post all the details for the world to see. google this problem and see how many links back to this site you see. this site is far from secure, it never has been. its on a american based server(look at this issue for yourself) it encourages search engines to get its name out there to try and grow membership. which these are facts that have never been a secret and has been discussed before. something to keep in mind the next time you go on to what is a publicly accessed forum to discuss security, you need to understand that it is publicly accessible. sometimes things are better keep in pms as big of a pain this situation would have been to do that way, it would have put a lid on who knew how easy it was to get the personal info. the 1st rule of growing that i learned was that lose lips sink ships. riu is not the only mj site setup this way any that you can find on a search engine is this way. so don`t think i`m knocking the site, i not at all. i`m just saying that if you think that because mj is openly discussed here that what you do and say here, stays here is far from true. this is just my 2bits on the subject....................remember security aint ez!

Link to story about 650,000 peoples info from hundreds of US retailers lost.
Companies that have had credit info stolen: Bank of America, Citigroup, Pizza Hut, J.C. Penny, Macy's, T.D. Bank, Shnucks Supermarkets. And those are the ones I could find in just a couple of minutes of looking. Let's not forget the ones I listed previously. I'm sure the Govt. and other Authorities have better things to do than spend a bunch of money chasing down people who ordered seeds and might be growing a couple of plants. And besides, the way it sounds the info wasn't just there, you had to look for it and search for it by order number. So, before you all cry a river about how SoS needs to close, maybe you should look at other companies that have had worse leaks and see how you feel about them closing their doors. You can turn in all Playstation 3's and Sony audio and video equipment to me. PM me, and I will let you know what you can do with it.
